This mission and the next occur in the same time period, meaning operatives selected for this mission will not be available for the subsequent one. Lone Fox is unique in the Rainbow Six series for its timed events; taking too long allows enemies to set up ambushes, while speed can enable you to ambush them at their drop-off points. Success relies heavily on the AI handling the majority of enemy combatants (tangos). Recommended team composition: 2 assault teams, 1 assault operative, and 1 reserve or specialist.

Blue Team: The first major assault team. Blitz from INS and climb the vines to hold for Alpha at the cliff's end, covering the roadblock. When the motorcade arrives, eliminate all guards except the hostage. If positioned correctly, Blue Team alone can neutralize all guards. Alpha, descend and enter the next ambush area. Position for Bravo at the NE section, near the truck and lightpost. When reinforcements arrive, attack them from behind. Bravo, proceed forward and ascend to the north side of the overpass. Hold this position for Charlie and eliminate any tangos dropped off. Charlie, move towards EXT and set up for Delta at the east end of the concrete dividers, positioning yourself on the south side of the road. Observe the road for two final cars, then engage the last few tangos. Delta, proceed to EXT.

Red Team: The preparatory team. From the start, move to the SECOND ambush site and hold for Bravo on the north side of the road, slightly NW of the truck and portable lightpost. Blue and Gold can manage the motorcade, allowing your team to gain a head start on the tangos. As cars enter this area, assist Blue and Green in clearing it. Bravo, run to the south side of the overpass and set up on its east side. Hold this position for Charlie. Eliminate ambushing tangos as they appear. Charlie, proceed past EXT and up the small hill. Await Delta here and use this as an outpost to neutralize the last two cars. Delta, proceed to EXT.

Green Team: The second major assault team. Proceed to the 2nd ambush point and position on the south side of the area. Hold for Bravo between the portable light and the concrete barrier. Crouch by the concrete barrier to expose only the front of the west car. As it approaches, immediately eliminate the two visible tangos to draw attention away from other teams. Bravo, continue to the south end of the overpass and await Charlie. Two cars will arrive; deal with them. Charlie, continue east and set up for Delta east of the concrete dividers on the north side of the road. Maintain a distance from the concrete to avoid being killed by the approaching car. Eliminate the remaining tangos exiting the cars. Delta, proceed to EXT.

Gold Team: The escort. Move onto the road and proceed south slightly. Hold for Alpha facing the roadblock. As the motorcade arrives, assist Blue in eliminating tangos. Alpha, race to the hostage, secure him, then hold for Bravo on the road before the 2nd ambush point. Advance to Bravo. Hold for Charlie before reaching the overpass. Charlie, move down the road and stay clear of the final ambush point. Await Delta here. Delta, escort the hostage to EXT.

Order of Operations: At each go-code, you must switch control between teams to ensure AI positioning. Control Gold for the 1st motorcade, Green for the 2nd, and Red for the last two sets of cars. If executed quickly, you can avoid confronting the final group of tangos, which is the optimal outcome. This mission requires experimentation, particularly in the 2nd ambush area. Persistence is key to completing it with all operatives at full health.
