Location: Lake (Chapter 3)

Del Lago is a massive, mutated salamander that attacks Leon while he's in a boat on the lake. This fight is unique as it's entirely on-rails.

Attack Patterns:

  • Charge: Del Lago will charge the boat, attempting to bite Leon.
  • Drag: It will grab the boat and drag it, requiring Leon to steer away from obstacles.
  • Dive & Surface: It dives and resurfaces, creating waves that can capsize the boat.

Strategy:

  1. Harpoons are Key: Your only weapon is the unlimited supply of harpoons. Aim for Del Lago's mouth when it's open or its body when it surfaces.
  2. Steer Away: When Del Lago drags the boat, use the left stick to steer away from logs and debris to avoid damage.
  3. Escape the Water: If Leon is pulled into the water, rapidly mash the indicated button to escape before he's eaten.
  4. Anticipate Surfacing: Listen for audio cues and watch the water for ripples to anticipate where Del Lago will surface next.
  5. Consistent Damage: Keep a steady stream of harpoons hitting its weak points. There's no need to conserve.

Weakness:

  • Its mouth when open.
  • Its exposed body when surfacing.

Recommended Weapons:

  • Harpoons (provided)
