Rez Infinite's controls are deceptively simple but offer depth. The primary action is targeting and locking onto enemies. Depending on your platform, this is achieved differently:
- Standard Controller: Use the left analog stick to move your avatar, and the right analog stick (or D-pad) to aim your reticle. Press and hold the primary attack button (e.g., X on PlayStation, A on Xbox) to lock onto up to eight targets. Release the button to fire.
- VR Headset (Gaze Control): Your reticle follows your head movements. Simply look at enemies to target them. Press and hold the primary attack button on your motion controller (e.g., Move controller, Touch controller) to lock on. Release to fire.
- VR Headset (Motion Controller Aim): Some VR setups allow you to aim with your motion controller directly. Point your controller at enemies to target. Press and hold the primary attack button on the controller to lock on. Release to fire.
The secondary action is the 'Overdrive' attack, typically mapped to a shoulder button (e.g., R1/RB). This clears all on-screen enemies and provides temporary invincibility, consuming one Overdrive stock. Mastering the timing of your lock-ons and Overdrive is crucial for high scores and survival.
