Extraction Mode Guide
Extraction is a tense and strategic game mode in Rogue Company that revolves around securing and extracting valuable intel. In this mode, two teams of four players compete to be the first to reach a designated extraction point with the intel. The game begins with intel spawning at a central location on the map. Teams must then fight to secure this intel and escort it to one of the available extraction zones. Once a team has possession of the intel, the extraction zones become active. The team carrying the intel must reach an active extraction zone and hold it until the extraction is complete. If the intel carrier is eliminated, the intel is dropped and can be picked up by either team, resetting the extraction progress.
Success in Extraction requires a delicate balance of offense, defense, and escorting. Teams must first coordinate to secure the intel, often involving a direct confrontation at its spawn point. Rogues with abilities that can control areas or provide mobility are highly valuable. For instance, Anvil's ability to deploy a barricade can help secure the intel spawn or an extraction zone, while Saint's ability to heal allies from a distance can keep the intel carrier alive during a perilous escort. Once the intel is secured, the escort phase begins, demanding that the team protect their intel carrier while navigating the map towards an extraction zone. This often involves setting up defensive positions at choke points or clearing paths ahead. A common mistake is for the intel carrier to push too aggressively or for the escorting team to spread out too thinly, leaving the carrier vulnerable. The intel carrier should prioritize staying alive and moving with their team's support.
The dynamic nature of Extraction means that the flow of the game can shift rapidly. If the intel carrier is eliminated, the dropped intel becomes a contested objective, and teams must quickly decide whether to push for it or defend their current position. This creates opportunities for comebacks and strategic plays. be aware of the map's layout and identify potential ambush points or advantageous positions for extraction. For example, on a map like The Runway, utilizing the open spaces for a quick escort might be viable, but it also exposes the carrier to long-range fire. Conversely, navigating through tighter corridors might offer more cover but also presents more opportunities for ambushes. Effective use of gadgets, such as deployable shields or concussion grenades, can create crucial windows for the intel carrier to reach safety or for the defending team to repel an incoming escort. The constant push and pull for control of the intel and the extraction zones make Extraction a highly engaging and strategic game mode.
