Power Positions on Vice

Vice, a vibrant and multi-layered map in Rogue Company, presents several key "power positions" that can significantly influence the outcome of a match. These are areas that offer superior lines of sight, strong defensive advantages, or crucial control over map flow. Identifying and controlling these positions is a fundamental aspect of mastering Vice.

One of the most dominant power positions on Vice is the "Rooftop" overlooking the central "Plaza." From this vantage point, You can survey a large portion of the map, spotting enemies attempting to cross the open areas or push towards the "Hotel" objective. This position is particularly strong for Rogues wielding DMRs or sniper rifles, such as Mack. However, it's also a highly exposed position, vulnerable to utility from below and coordinated pushes. Defenders often establish a strong presence here, making it a contested area throughout the game.

Another critical power position is the "Balcony" area within the "Hotel." This offers excellent sightlines into the "Lobby" and the "Courtyard" areas, allowing defenders to control access to the hotel. Players holding this position can effectively deny entry and pick off enemies attempting to push. The tight angles within the hotel also make it a strong position for shotguns and SMGs. Conversely, attackers can use the "Back Alley" to flank the hotel, bypassing the main entrance and potentially catching defenders off guard. The "Back Alley" itself can become a power position if a team manages to secure it, providing a safe route for rotations and a staging ground for assaults.

The "Dockyard" area on Vice also contains several advantageous positions. The elevated platforms and shipping containers provide ample cover and allow players to control the flow of enemies moving between the "Warehouse" and the "Waterfront." Holding these positions can be crucial for defending the "Warehouse" bomb site. Rogues with area-denial abilities, like Scorch with her molotovs, can make these positions incredibly difficult to push. while these positions offer advantages, they can also become death traps if the enemy coordinates a push with utility. always be aware of their surroundings and have an escape route planned. The ability to rotate effectively between these power positions, using routes like the "Underpass," is key to maintaining map control and securing victory on Vice.
