    After gaining control of Marius, learn the combat basics: Press X to attack with your sword, and Y to bash with your shield. Use the d-pad to select perks and press A to parry attacks.

    Fight barbarians on the bridge. Damage them until a skull and crossbones appears, then pull RT to initiate an execution. Press X when their bodies are outlined in blue, and Y when outlined in yellow.

    Engage the Barbarian Warlord. He will surround the area with fire, limiting maneuverability. Wait for him to swing his flaming weapon, then use the left stick to roll away (press B) and land a few hits.

    Continue dodging his attacks and striking when he misses. When an execution prompt appears, pull RT to perform it. Successfully executing the Warlord completes the first chapter.
