After speaking with the Tengu of Ashina, he rewards you with the Ashina Esoteric Text, which unlocks the Ashina Arts tree. He suggests that these arts, which have no specific rules beyond winning, will assist in "rat hunting." It is beneficial to unlock the first passive skills in the Ashina Line at a Sculptor's Idol if you have the necessary skill points, as they are very useful.
