In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Sekiro's primary means of offense is his Katana, Kusabimaru, and his versatile Shinobi Prosthetic. While there are no traditional weapon upgrades in the Soulsborne sense, Sekiro's offensive capabilities are enhanced through Prosthetic Tools and combat skills.

Sekiro wields the Kusabimaru, a katana passed down through his lineage. This is his default weapon and is used for all standard attacks, deflections, and deathblows. The Kusabimaru's effectiveness is primarily determined by Sekiro's mastery of combat, including his ability to parry, dodge, and exploit enemy openings.

The true variety in Sekiro's arsenal comes from his Shinobi Prosthetic. This mechanical arm can be equipped with various Prosthetic Tools, each offering unique offensive and utility capabilities. These tools consume Spirit Emblems to use and can be found throughout the world or obtained by defeating certain enemies.

Examples of Prosthetic Tools include:

• Loaded Shuriken: Fires a rapid volley of shurikens, useful for interrupting enemy attacks or dealing chip damage from a distance.
• Loaded Axe: A powerful, charged attack that can break enemy guards and deal significant damage.
• Flame Vent: Launches a burst of flame, dealing damage over time and potentially staggering enemies.
• Shinobi Firecracker: Stuns enemies, creating openings for attacks or escapes.
• Gourd Launcher: Fires a projectile that can be charged for increased damage or range.

While the Kusabimaru itself doesn't have traditional upgrades, its effectiveness is amplified by Sekiro's learned Combat Arts. These are special moves that can be equipped and activated during combat, offering powerful offensive maneuvers.

Prosthetic Tool Upgrades are crucial for enhancing the effectiveness of your prosthetic arm. By using specific upgrade materials found throughout the world, you can unlock new abilities, increase damage, or reduce Spirit Emblem costs for your tools. Visiting the Sculptor in the Dilapidated Temple is key to upgrading your Prosthetic Tools.
