Activating the ancient device isn't as simple as pressing a button. Once you approach it, the chamber will seal, and you'll be subjected to multiple waves of enemies. This is a classic Serious Sam arena battle. Expect a mix of Kleer Skeletons, Arachnoids, and potentially your first Sirian Werebulls. The Werebulls are fast and deal heavy damage; dodge their charges by strafing sideways at the last moment, then unload your most powerful weapons into their backs or sides. The Shotgun is effective against Kleer, while the Assault Rifle and Pistol can chip away at Arachnoids and Werebulls. Keep moving constantly to avoid being surrounded. Utilize any pillars or obstacles for temporary cover, but don't rely on them. After several intense waves, the device will power up, and the chamber will unlock. Collect any remaining health and ammo before proceeding, as you'll likely be low on resources after this encounter. The activation sequence usually involves a short cutscene or visual effect.
