You awaken in your apartment, the air thick with a cloying, sweet scent. The first objective is to escape the building. Head to the apartment door, but find it locked. Look for a Rusty Key on the small table near the window. Once acquired, use it to unlock the door. As you step into the hallway, notice the unsettling organic growths beginning to consume the walls. Proceed cautiously down the corridor. A 'Mannequin' type creature may appear at the end of the hall; avoid direct confrontation if possible, as you are currently unarmed. Duck into the open apartment on your left. Inside, search the kitchen counter for a Kitchen Knife – your first weapon. Equip it immediately. Now, proceed to the stairwell. The main exit on the ground floor is blocked by a massive, pulsating growth. You'll need to find an alternative route. Head to the rooftop access door on the top floor. It's locked, but a Maintenance Key can be found in the janitor's closet on the second floor, behind a stack of old newspapers. Retrieve it and unlock the rooftop door. Once on the roof, a short cinematic will play, revealing the extent of the city's transformation.
