There are eight in total, and they're generally unlocked in a specific order as you progress.

Here’s the rundown on who you can unlock and how:

1. Yoshimitsu — You'll snag him after clearing Chapter 2, Mission 3.
2. Charade — This one unlocks after you finish Chapter 3, Mission 1.
3. Cervantes — Keep going, and you'll get Cervantes by completing Chapter 3, Mission 4.
4. Sophitia — She becomes available once you beat Chapter 4, Mission 5.
5. Seung Mina — You'll unlock her after completing Chapter 6, Mission 3.
6. Berserker — This guy requires a second playthrough of Subchapter 1, Mission 1.
7. Assassin — You'll need to successfully complete Subchapter 3, Mission 2 for this unlock.
8. Lizardman — This is the big one! To unlock Lizardman, you absolutely must complete ALL Chapters, including all Subchapters and Extra Chapters. This means finishing every single mission at least twice.

A Special Note on Unlocking Lizardman

I know Lizardman can be a bit confusing, so let's clear it up. 'Successfully completing ALL chapters' means exactly that – every single mission, twice. Don't forget the missions in Subchapter 2; many players miss these! To even get to Subchapter 2, you'll need to have finished all other missions and be at least level 76. You won't hit that level just by playing through normally, so you'll have to replay some missions to grind out the experience. Once you're level 76 or higher, replay Chapter 4, Mission 3. If you meet the level requirement, it'll open the path to Subchapter 2. Then, you need to complete all four missions in Subchapter 2, playing each of them twice, just like the other chapters.

Important Clarifications on Exclusive Characters

Just to avoid any confusion, let's quickly cover Heihachi, Spawn, and Link:

• Heihachi is a PlayStation 2 exclusive. You can't get him on Xbox or GameCube.
• Spawn is an Xbox exclusive. He's not available on PS2 or GameCube.
• Link is a GameCube exclusive. You won't find him on PS2 or Xbox.
