Every course in SSX Tricky has hidden shortcuts and sometimes even minor glitches that can be exploited for faster times or higher scores. Discovering and mastering these can give you a significant edge over rivals and help you achieve those elusive gold medals.

General Shortcut Tips:
- Look for Breakable Objects: Many courses have glass panels, wooden fences, or ice walls that can be smashed through to reveal shortcuts.
- High Jumps Over Obstacles: Often, a well-timed, high jump can clear a section of the track or an obstacle, landing you on a faster path.
- Grind Rails to Bypass Sections: Long grind rails are often placed to bypass slower, winding sections of the main track.
- Explore Off-Path: In Freeride mode, actively look for paths that diverge from the main track, even if they seem to lead nowhere initially.
Course-Specific Examples (brief):
- Garibaldi: The fence gap on the right after the first left turn, and the jump over the chasm after the ice cave.
- Snowdream: The glass tunnel shortcut and the grind rails on the left at the start.
- Merqury City: Jumping through building windows and grinding on ledges.
- Tokyo Megaplex: The ventilation shaft shortcut and jumping through glass panels to lower levels.
Minor Glitches/Exploits:
While SSX Tricky is relatively polished, some minor physics quirks can be exploited. For instance, sometimes hitting a specific angle on a ramp can launch you much higher than intended, allowing for extra Uber Tricks. These are often discovered through extensive play and experimentation. Be aware that some 'glitches' might lead to bails, so use them cautiously.
