Fast Travel & Meditation Points
Meditation Points are vital hubs in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, serving as save points, healing stations, and places to upgrade Cal Kestis's skills. Understanding their function and how to utilize them effectively is crucial for navigating the game's challenging environments and progression.
Meditation Points are scattered throughout each planet and are visually distinct, often appearing as glowing, ethereal altars. When Cal approaches a Meditation Point, he can choose to interact with it. Doing so offers several key options:
- Rest: This fully restores Cal's Health and Force Energy. It also replenishes all used Stim Canisters. However, resting also respawns all defeated enemies in the area, so it should be used strategically.
- Skill Upgrades: If Cal has accumulated enough experience points (XP), you can spend them here to unlock new abilities or enhance existing ones in the various skill trees (Survival, Force, Lightsaber).
- Change Outfits/Lightsaber: You can also customize Cal's appearance and lightsaber here if you have unlocked new cosmetic items.
- Check Databank: Access your collected lore entries and enemy information.
Fast Travel: While there isn't a traditional 'fast travel' system in the sense of instantly jumping between any two discovered points, Meditation Points act as anchors for exploration. Once you discover a Meditation Point, it becomes a respawn location. If you die, you will respawn at the last Meditation Point you rested at. This encourages thorough exploration, as discovering new Meditation Points expands your network of safe havens.
Strategic Use of Meditation Points:
- Before Boss Fights: Always try to find and rest at a Meditation Point before a sificant boss encounter to ensure you are fully healed and have all Stim Canisters available.
- After Sificant Progress: If you've overcome a difficult section or collected many collectibles, resting at a Meditation Point saves your progress and allows you to spend any accumulated XP.
- When Low on Health: If you're critically low on health and can't find a safe way to recover, seeking out a Meditation Point is your best bet, but be prepared for respawned enemies.
- Skill Point Allocation: Plan your skill upgrades. Sometimes it's beneficial to save XP until you reach a Meditation Point to allocate points strategically for the challenges ahead.
Mastering the use of Meditation Points is fundamental to survival and progression in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. They are your lifeline in a dangerous galaxy.
