Planet Exploration & Hub Worlds
Embark on an epic journey across diverse planets in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, each offering unique environments, challenges, and secrets to uncover. From the scrapyard planet of Bracca to the ancient ruins of Zeffo and the lush forests of Kashyyyk, exploration is a core pillar of the game. Mastering planet navigation and understanding the role of hub worlds is key to your success.
Each planet serves as a distinct hub world, filled with interconnected areas, hidden paths, and valuable collectibles. These planets are not just backdrops; they are intricate levels desed to test your platforming skills, puzzle-solving abilities, and combat prowess. BD-1's tools and Cal's growing Force powers will be essential for traversing these varied landscapes and uncovering their mysteries.
Key Planets and Their Characteristics:
- Bracca: The starting planet, a massive shipbreaking yard. It serves as an introduction to basic movement, combat, and the game's narrative.
- Bogano: A lush, alien world with ancient ruins. It's the first major hub where you'll learn new abilities and meet key allies. Look for Meditation Points and Force Echoes here.
- Zeffo: A planet rich with ancient Zeffo civilization and Imperial excavations. It features complex tombs, environmental puzzles, and dangerous wildlife.
- Kashyyyk: The homeworld of the Wookiees. This planet offers vertical exploration, challenging platforming sections, and opportunities to aid the Wookiee resistance.
- Dathomir: A dark and dangerous planet inhabited by the Nightsisters. It presents a more challenging combat and exploration experience, with a focus on Force powers.
- Ilum: A frozen planet housing an ancient Jedi Temple. This location is critical for Cal's personal journey and involves intricate puzzles and environmental hazards.
Hub World Mechanics:
Each planet acts as a hub, with interconnected areas that often require specific Force powers or abilities to access. As you progress through the story, you'll unlock new traversal abilities like the Force Jump (Jedi Flip), Wall Run, and later, the ability to move heavy objects with Force Pull. These abilities open up previously inaccessible areas, encouraging backtracking and thorough exploration.
Meditation Points:
Scattered across each planet are Meditation Points. These are crucial checkpoints where you can:
- Save Your Progress: Automatically saves your game.
- Rest and Heal: Restore Cal's health and Force meter.
- Spend Skill Points: Use your earned experience points to unlock and upgrade Cal's abilities.
- Respawn Enemies: Resting at a Meditation Point will respawn all defeated enemies in the area, which can be useful for farming experience or re-attempting combat scenarios.
Exploration Tips:
- Use the Holomap: The Holomap is your best friend for navigating complex environments. It shows your current location, objectives, and discovered areas.
- Look for Wall Runs and Climbable Surfaces: These are key indicators of paths forward or hidden areas.
- Listen to BD-1: BD-1 will often alert you to interactive elements or points of interest.
- Backtrack: Don't be afraid to revisit areas once you've acquired new abilities. Many secrets and collectibles are hidden behind previously impassable obstacles.
- Scan Everything: Use BD-1 to scan objects and creatures. This not only fills your Databank but can sometimes reveal hidden paths or lore.
