Jedi Robes & Armor
A fundamental aspect of playing as a Jedi character in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is understanding the limitations placed upon their equipment. Jedi, due to their deep connection with the Force, cannot wear most conventional types of armor without suffering a sificant penalty to their Force powers, hindering their effectiveness in combat and utility. Instead, Jedi characters must rely on specialized Jedi robes. These robes typically offer minimal physical defense, providing little protection against direct physical attacks. However, their primary advantage lies in allowing Jedi to utilize their full spectrum of Force powers without any reduction in potency or efficiency. Beyond standard robes, the game features several unique and powerful variants. These exceptional robes can provide substantial bonuses to a character's core attributes, such as Strength or Dexterity, sificantly increase their Force points pool, or offer a notable boost to their defense rating, making them highly sought after. For non-Jedi companions, the selection of armor is far broader, allowing for the equipping of various types of armor, from light combat suits to heavy plating, depending on their class and combat role. Equipping companions with the most appropriate armor for their build is crucial for maximizing their survivability and combat effectiveness on the battlefield.
