Where to Find Gems
- The Mines: As you descend through the 120 levels of the Mines, you'll encounter veins of ore and rock formations that can yield various gems. The deeper you go, the higher the chance of finding rarer and more valuable gems.
- Geodes: These rock-like items can be found throughout the Mines. They must be taken to Clint the Blacksmith to be cracked open. Geodes can contain ores, coal, and several gems. There are different types of geodes (Geode, Frozen Geode, Magma Geode, Omni Geode), each with a slightly different pool of potential contents.
- Skull Cavern: Located in the Calico Desert, the Skull Cavern is a much more challenging dungeon. It's the primary source for finding Iridium Ore and is also an excellent location for finding high-value gems, including Prismatic Shards.
- Treasure Chests: Fishing treasure chests can sometimes contain gems.
- Monster Drops: Certain monsters, particularly those found in the Skull Cavern, may drop gems.
- The Quarry: Once unlocked, the Quarry can spawn various ores and gems.

- Museum Donation: Donating a Prismatic Shard to the Museum is a key part of completing the collection.

Gem Quality
Like crops and other items, gems can spawn in different qualities: normal, silver, gold, and iridium. Higher quality gems sell for more and are generally more desirable for gifting and crafting.
