Artifacts can be found in Fishing Treasure Chests. If an artifact found this way does not appear on the collections tab, dragging it out of the inventory window and back in, or holding it in inventory overnight, may correct this issue. Artifact descriptions appear on the collections tab as soon as they are found, even if the inventory description suggests donating it to the museum.
