World 2-1 introduces Ptooies, Koopa Troopas that balance a spiked ball on their heads. You can stomp them when the ball is not above them, or use a Fire Flower. The stage also features quicksand pits. If you fall in, rapidly jump to escape before you're fully submerged. There are several ? Blocks and Brick Blocks containing power-ups like the Super Mushroom and Super Leaf. Keep an eye out for a hidden 1-Up Mushroom in a block near the end of the stage, just before the Goal Card.

Tip: If you have a Fire Flower, it makes dealing with Ptooies much easier, as you can simply blast them from a distance without worrying about their spiked ball. Practice your running jumps to clear larger quicksand pits efficiently.
