Hidden Blocks & 1-Up Hearts

Throughout Sarasaland, many stages contain hidden blocks that are invisible until Mario jumps and hits them from below. These blocks often contain valuable items, most notably 1-Up Hearts. Finding these hearts is crucial for accumulating extra lives, which can be the difference between a Game Over and continuing your adventure.

How to Find Hidden Blocks:

• Jump in suspicious areas: If you see a gap in the ceiling, an unusual platform arrangement, or an area that just feels 'empty,' try jumping. Many hidden blocks are placed in logical, yet unseen, locations.
• Above '?' blocks: Sometimes, a hidden block will be directly above a visible '?' block. Always jump above '?' blocks to check.
• Near pipes or ledges: Areas around pipes or at the end of ledges are common spots for hidden blocks.
• Listen for the sound: When Mario hits a hidden block, you'll hear the familiar block-hitting sound effect.

While most hidden blocks contain coins, some will reveal a 1-Up Heart. These hearts are invaluable, especially in later, more challenging worlds. Make it a habit to jump in every suspicious spot.
