Walkthrough
- 1From the start, head up the path and hit the chest to get 5 Coins.
- 2Continue and defeat the Goomba to rescue Toad, who gives you a Honey Syrup.
- 3Hit the next chest to get 8 Coins.
- 4Take the path to the second section.
- 5Defeat the Goombas near the spinning red flower, then stand on the flower.
- 6Jump from the flower to the right ledge to rescue Toad from a Sky Troopa.
- 7Defeat the Sky Troopa to receive a Flower Tab.
- 8Hop back on the spinning red flower and wait for it to aim left.
- 9Jump to the left platform and open the chest to find a Flower.
- 10Drop off the platform and continue to the next section.
- 11Open the chest before the path to the last area to get a Recovery Mushroom.
- 12Take the path to the final area and fight Spikeys until you reach Level 2.
- 13Continue to the right end of the area and approach the Hammer Bro twice to start the boss battle.
- 14Defeat the two Hammer Bros.
- 15After the battle, Toad will give you the Hammer.
- 16Equip the Hammer as your new weapon.
- 17Take the path out of Mushroom Way.
Tips
- Fight many enemies to gain a level or two before the Hammer Brothers.
- Flower items (Tab/Jar/Box) raise Max FP and recover spent FP.
- To have your next party member level up easily, ensure Mario is Level 2 with 24 EXP before leaving Mushroom Way (he will have 30 EXP and be at Next Level at 18 EXP after the boss).
- Concentrate on defeating one Hammer Bro at a time.
- Time your defenses to reduce damage from their attacks.
- Use two timed Jump attacks on each Hammer Bro. Use another timed regular attack if needed.
