But your journey doesn't end with the final boss! The world still holds many secrets, challenges, and treasures for those brave enough to seek them out. This comprehensive guide will walk you through all the post-game content, ensuring you squeeze every last drop of adventure from your journey.

The post-game content expands your adventure with a new explorable zone, challenging combat trials, and the ultimate test of New Game+. Dive into the depths of the Sunken City of Aethel, prove your worth in the Trials of the Sunken King, and face the world anew in New Game+.

The Sunken City of Aethel

Once the main narrative concludes, a new, previously inaccessible area will appear on your world map: the Sunken City of Aethel. This ancient metropolis, submerged for millennia, is now partially exposed, offering new exploration opportunities and formidable foes.

  • Location: Directly east of the Whispering Dunes, marked by a swirling vortex on your map.
  • Access: Requires the Abyssal Dive ability, which is automatically granted upon completing the main story.
  • Key Objectives:
    1. Retrieve the Star-Forged Compass: This legendary artifact is hidden within the Grand Library of Aethel. Navigate the submerged ruins, avoiding the aggressive Deep-Sea Leviathans. The library entrance is guarded by a Coral Golem. This formidable construct is vulnerable to charged attacks from your Blade of Tides, a unique spectral weapon that manifests during combat.
    2. Activate the Aethelian Spires: There are three spires scattered throughout the city: the Spire of Whispers (north-west), the Spire of Echoes (south-east), and the Spire of Illumination (central). Each spire requires a unique puzzle solution involving light redirection and pressure plates. Activating all three will unlock the Chamber of the Deep.
    3. Confront the Abyssal Guardian: The Chamber of the Deep houses the Abyssal Guardian, K'tharr, a colossal creature of pure shadow. K'tharr has two phases:
      • Phase 1: Tentacle Barrage: Focus on dodging its sweeping tentacle attacks and counter-attacking its glowing eyes when they are exposed.
      • Phase 2: Void Breath: K'tharr will begin to charge a devastating void breath attack. Use your Sand Dash to quickly get behind it and strike its vulnerable dorsal fin.
      Defeating K'tharr rewards you with the Heart of the Abyss, a powerful upgrade material.
  • Notable Loot:
    • Aethelian Coral Shards: Found throughout the city, these can be traded with the Mystic Trader in the Oasis of Serenity for exclusive cosmetic items and powerful weapon enchantments.
    • Tome of Ancient Rites: Located in a hidden alcove near the Spire of Echoes, this tome unlocks a new Runic Ability: Tidal Surge. This ability allows you to summon a powerful wave to knock back and stun enemies, creating crucial openings for attack.

The Trials of the Sunken King

After acquiring the Heart of the Abyss, you can challenge the Trials of the Sunken King, a series of increasingly difficult combat encounters designed to test your mastery of the game's mechanics.

  • Location: Accessed via the Sunken Throne Room within the Chamber of the Deep.
  • Requirements: Possession of the Heart of the Abyss.
  • Trial Structure: There are five distinct trials, each with unique environmental hazards and enemy compositions.
    1. Trial of the Shifting Sands: Combat takes place on a constantly shifting sand platform, requiring precise movement and timing. Features enhanced Sand Lurkers and Dune Strikers.
    2. Trial of the Blinding Mists: Visibility is severely reduced, forcing you to rely on sound cues and enemy outlines. Introduces the new Phantom Scorpions.
    3. Trial of the Crushing Depths: Gravity is increased, slowing your movement and jump height. Features heavily armored Stone Sentinels.
    4. Trial of the Burning Sun: The arena is periodically scorched by intense sunlight, forcing you to seek cover or risk taking continuous damage. Introduces the Solar Wyrms.
    5. Trial of the Sunken King: A gauntlet of all previous enemy types, culminating in a battle against a more powerful version of the Abyssal Guardian with new attack patterns.
  • Rewards:
    • Completing each trial for the first time grants a King's Seal.
    • Collecting all five King's Seals allows you to forge the Crown of Aethel at the Ancient Forge in the Oasis of Serenity. The Crown of Aethel provides a significant boost to all stats and unlocks a unique cosmetic aura.
    • Repeated completions of the trials offer rare crafting materials and a chance to drop Legendary Echoes, which can be used to further enhance your existing equipment.

New Game+

For those seeking the ultimate challenge, New Game+ allows you to restart the entire adventure with all your acquired abilities, upgrades, and items, but with significantly tougher enemies and new modifiers.
