Attribute Fortification & Drain Effects
Morrowind's magic system features effects that can either bolster or diminish your character's core attributes. Understanding attribute fortification and drain effects is crucial for both enhancing your character's capabilities and countering enemy strengths. These effects can be applied through spells, enchantments, potions, and even creature abilities.
Fortify Attribute effects temporarily increase one of your character's six core attributes: Strength, Intelligence, Willpower, Agility, Endurance, or Speed. These are invaluable for overcoming challenges that require specific stat thresholds, such as wielding powerful weapons, casting complex spells, or navigating difficult terrain. For instance, a spell that fortifies Strength can allow you to carry more loot or wield heavier weapons.
Conversely, Drain Attribute effects temporarily reduce an enemy's attributes. This can be a powerful tactic in combat, weakening a formidable foe by diminishing their offensive or defensive capabilities. For example, draining an enemy's Strength can reduce their melee damage, while draining their Willpower can make them more susceptible to your own magical attacks.

Mastering the use of these effects, whether through self-buffs or debuffs on enemies, is a key component of strategic combat and character optimization in Morrowind.
