Skyshards
Skyshards are mystical fragments scattered across Tamriel, and in Morrowind, they serve as a vital collectible for character progression. Discovering and absorbing these shards grants You character a permanent increase in their maximum Magicka, Health, or Stamina. While not as impactful as skill points, collecting Skyshards is a rewarding endeavor that subtly enhances your character's capabilities over time, encouraging thorough exploration of the game world.
In Morrowind, Skyshards are not a direct source of skill points like in some other Elder Scrolls titles. Instead, they are more akin to minor stat boosts that contribute to your overall character development. Each Skyshard you find will grant a small, permanent increase to one of your core attributes: Magicka, Health, or Stamina. While a single Skyshard's effect is minor, collecting them all can lead to a noticeable improvement in your character's resilience and resource pool.
Finding and Absorbing Skyshards
Skyshards are typically found in hidden or hard-to-reach locations, often guarded by creatures or hidden within dungeons and ruins. They emit a faint, ethereal glow and a subtle humming sound, which can help you locate them. To absorb a Skyshard, simply approach it and interact with it. The game will notify you of the attribute increase.
- Locations: Skyshards can be found in a wide variety of places, including caves, Daedric ruins, ancient tombs, bandit camps, and even within the cities themselves. Some are out in the open, while others are hidden behind puzzles or require specific skills to access.
- Attribute Bonuses: The attribute you gain a bonus to (Magicka, Health, or Stamina) is randomized for each Skyshard. This means you can't target specific attributes for Skyshard collection, but rather collect them all to benefit from the cumulative effect.
- Exploration Incentive: The primary purpose of Skyshards is to encourage players to explore every nook and cranny of Morrowind. They are often placed in areas that might otherwise be overlooked, rewarding diligent adventurers.
While the number of Skyshards in Morrowind is not as extensive as in later Elder Scrolls games, they still represent a valuable collection goal.
