Cyrodiil's wilderness is teeming with several creatures, from docile herbivores to dangerous predators. Understanding the behavior and threat level of common wildlife is essential for safe travel and resource gathering. Many of these creatures can provide valuable ingredients or be a nuisance on your journeys.
Here are some of the common wildlife you'll encounter:
- Deer: Peaceful herbivores found in forests and plains. They pose no threat and can be hunted for venison, a useful food source.
- Foxes: Small, agile creatures often found in wooded areas. They are generally non-aggressive but can be a minor nuisance.
- Rabbits: Small, timid creatures that flee from players. They are not a sificant threat and offer little in terms of valuable loot.
- Boars: More aggressive than deer, boars can charge and inflict moderate damage. They are often found in forests and can be hunted for meat.
- Wolves: Common predators found in forests and mountainous regions. They hunt in packs and can be dangerous to unprepared travelers, especially at lower levels.
- Bears: Large and powerful predators, bears are a sificant threat. They inhabit forests and mountainous areas and can inflict heavy damage. Their pelts can be valuable.
- Mountain Lions: Agile and dangerous predators found in rocky and mountainous terrain. They are fast and can be difficult to hit.
While these creatures are generally less dangerous than Daedra or bandits, they can still pose a threat, especially when encountered in groups or when you are at a low level. Always be prepared for a fight, even when venturing into seemingly peaceful areas. Some of these creatures also drop valuable alchemical ingredients, so hunting them can be beneficial for crafting potions.
