The Hyper Drive Gauge is a unique resource in KOF XIII that enables advanced combo mechanics and a powerful temporary state. It's located above the Power Gauge and fills as you land attacks and perform special moves. When full, you can activate Hyper Drive Mode (HD Mode).
Uses of Hyper Drive Gauge:
- Hyper Drive Mode (HP + HK when full): Activates a temporary state where your character glows. During HD Mode, you can perform:
- Drive Cancels: Cancel a special move into another special move (even if it normally wouldn't combo).
- Super Cancels: Cancel a special move into a Super Special Move.
- Neo Max Cancels: Cancel a Super Special Move into a Neo Max Super Special Move.
- HD Cancels: Cancel a normal attack into another normal attack, allowing for extended combos.
- HD Combos: The primary use of HD Mode is to string together incredibly long and damaging combos by chaining special moves and Super Special Moves.
- Climax Cancels: A specific type of cancel that allows for even more combo extensions.
Mastering HD Mode and its various cancels is essential for maximizing your damage output and creating devastating combos. Practice these in Training Mode to understand the timing and possibilities for each character.
