While The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild breaks many series conventions, its boss encounters remain a highlight. From the formidable Blight Ganons within the Divine Beasts to the monstrous overworld bosses, preparation and strategic thinking are key to victory. This section provides general advice applicable to most boss encounters, helping you turn the tide in Link's favor.

General Preparation

Before engaging any major boss, a little foresight goes a long way. Don't rush in without considering these crucial elements:

Heart Containers & Stamina Vessels: Prioritize increasing your health and stamina. More hearts mean more hits you can take, and increased stamina allows for more dodges, charged attacks, and climbing during dynamic boss fights. Complete Shrines to earn Spirit Orbs and trade them at Goddess Statues.
Armor: Upgrade your armor at a Great Fairy Fountain. Even a single upgrade can significantly reduce incoming damage. Consider armor sets that offer specific resistances (e.g., Flamebreaker Armor for fire, Snowquill Armor for cold) if the boss's element is known.
