Post-Game Challenges
Congratulations, Hero of Hyrule! You've successfully restored the Spirit Tracks and defeated Malladus. But your adventure doesn't have to end there. Spirit Tracks offers a wealth of post-game content for completionists and those seeking further challenges. From collecting every last treasure to mastering the toughest minigames, there's plenty to keep you busy.
Collect All Train Parts
One of the most satisfying post-game endeavors is to fully customize your train. There are numerous unique train parts scattered across Hyrule, often hidden in treasure chests or rewarded for completing side quests. Each part offers different aesthetic changes and sometimes even slight performance boosts. To track down all the parts:
- Explore Every Corner: Revisit all areas of the overworld, paying close attention to any unexplored paths or suspicious-looking spots on your map. Many parts are found in chests off the main tracks.
- Complete All Force Gem Quests: Several Force Gems unlock new track segments that lead to hidden areas containing valuable train parts. Refer to your Force Gem guide to ensure you've found them all.
- Treasure Chests: Many parts are simply found in standard treasure chests. If you're missing any, consider using the Treasure Map item (if you haven't already collected all maps) to pinpoint remaining chests.
- Trading Post Rewards: check the various Trading Posts around Hyrule. Some merchants offer rare train parts in exchange for specific treasures or materials.
Master the Minigames
Hyrule is home to several challenging minigames, each offering unique rewards for high scores. Achieving the top ranks in these minigames often requires precision, practice, and a bit of luck. Here's a breakdown:
- Take 'Em All On! (Pirate Hideout): This combat challenge requires you to defeat waves of enemies within a time limit.
- Strategy: Equip your best sword and shield. use your Bow and Bombs for ranged attacks and crowd control. Focus on taking out the most dangerous enemies first. Practice makes perfect!
- Rewards: Achieving high scores can net you rare treasures and even a Heart Container.
- Rabbitland Rescue (Rabbitland): Catch all the runaway rabbits before time runs out.
- Strategy: Learn the rabbits' movement patterns. Use the Flute to attract them, and the Boomerang to stun them from a distance. Prioritize rabbits that are far away or about to escape.
- Rewards: Collect all 50 rabbits to earn a special reward from the Rabbit Master.
- Whip Race (Goron Village): Navigate a challenging track using your Whip to swing across gaps.
- Strategy: Memorize the track layout and the optimal swinging points. Timing is crucial. Don't be afraid to restart if you make a mistake early on.
- Rewards: Beat the Goron's best time for valuable treasures.
Find All Force Gems
While many Force Gems are collected during the main story, several remain hidden or require specific side quests to unlock. Each Force Gem adds a new segment to the Spirit Tracks, opening up new areas and often leading to additional treasure or secrets.
- Consult Your Map: The in-game map will indicate areas where Force Gems are still available. Look for glowing spots or incomplete track lines.
- Side Quests: Many villagers have requests that, once fulfilled, will reward you with a Force Gem. Talk to everyone in every town and settlement.
- Environmental Puzzles: Some Force Gems are hidden behind environmental puzzles that require specific items or a keen eye to solve. Revisit areas with new items you've acquired.
Complete the Stamp Collection
There are 20 unique stamps hidden throughout Hyrule. Collecting all of them earns you a special reward from Niko in Aboda Village.
- Look for Stamp Stations: Each stamp is found at a designated Stamp Station, usually located in a prominent or slightly hidden spot within towns, dungeons, or overworld areas.
- Use the Stamp Book: Your Stamp Book will show you which stamps you've collected and which regions still have stamps to find, helping you narrow down your search.
- Check Every Dungeon: revisit each dungeon; many have a Stamp Station tucked away in a corner.
Max Out Your Wallet and Item Capacity
For the ultimate completionist, maximizing your wallet and item capacities is a must. This involves finding all Wallet Upgrades and Bomb Bag/Arrow Quiver upgrades.
- Wallet Upgrades: These are often found in treasure chests or as rewards for specific side quests. The largest wallet upgrade allows you to carry up to 5,000 Rupees.
- Bomb Bag Upgrades: Increase your bomb capacity by finding these upgrades, usually hidden in chests or rewarded for minigame achievements.
- Arrow Quiver Upgrades: Similar to Bomb Bags, these upgrades boost your arrow capacity. Keep an eye out for them in chests or as quest rewards.
By tackling these post-game challenges, you'll truly experience everything The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks has to offer, solidifying your status as a legendary engineer and hero!
