Post-Game Activities

Congratulations, hero! You've vanquished Vaati and restored peace to Hyrule. But the adventure doesn't have to end there! The Minish Cap offers a wealth of post-game content for completionists and those simply looking to extend their journey. From collecting every last Kinstone to mastering the Tiger Scrolls, there's plenty to keep you busy.

Kinstone Fusion Completion

One of the most satisfying post-game goals is to complete all possible Kinstone Fusions. While many are mandatory or naturally encountered during the main story, a significant number are optional and unlock valuable rewards, new areas, or even side quests. To track your progress, check the Kinstone Bag in your inventory. Any empty slots indicate fusions you still need to find.

  • Strategy: Systematically revisit every NPC in Hyrule, both in their normal and Minish forms. Many characters will offer a Kinstone piece if you haven't fused with them yet. Pay special attention to characters who move or appear only after certain story events.
  • Key Locations for Missed Fusions:
    • Hyrule Town: Many residents have Kinstone pieces, including the Postman, the various shopkeepers, and even the dogs. check inside houses.
    • South Hyrule Field: The various Tingle brothers (Tingle, Ankle, Knuckle, David Jr.) are often overlooked and offer unique fusions that can reveal hidden passages or items.
    • Castor Wilds: After clearing the area, revisit the various Minish-sized holes and speak to any Minish you encounter.
    • Cloud Tops: Some Cloud Minish only appear after specific fusions or story progression.
  • Rewards: Completing Kinstone Fusions can lead to Heart Pieces, Rupees, new Minish portals, and even access to the elusive House of Wind in Cloud Tops, which contains a valuable treasure.

Heart Piece Collection

To truly maximize Link's health, you'll want to collect all 44 Heart Pieces, forming a total of 14 full Heart Containers (plus the starting 3). Many Heart Pieces are hidden in plain sight, behind Kinstone Fusions, or require specific items or abilities to reach.

  • Strategy: Use your fully upgraded arsenal of items. The Roc's Cape is essential for reaching distant platforms, the Mole Mitts for digging, and the Pegasus Boots for speed.
  • Common Locations:
    • Chests: Many are found in dungeons or hidden caves.
    • Kinstone Fusions: As mentioned above, many fusions directly reward a Heart Piece.
    • Mini-Games: The various mini-games around Hyrule, such as the Cucco-catching game in Hyrule Town or the Goron Merchant's game in Lon Lon Ranch, often offer Heart Pieces as top prizes.
    • Hidden Passages: Look for cracked walls to bomb, or suspicious-looking patches of ground to dig.
  • Specific Example: There's a Heart Piece accessible by fusing Kinstones with the Minish in the Western Wood, which opens a passage to a cave containing the piece. Another requires you to win the Simon Says-style game at the Hyrule Town Inn multiple times.

Tiger Scroll Mastery

The Tiger Scrolls teach Link new sword techniques, and while some are acquired during the main quest, several are optional and provide powerful combat advantages. There are a total of 8 Tiger Scrolls to collect.

  • Strategy: Seek out the various Blade Brothers scattered across Hyrule. They will teach you a new technique once you meet their specific requirements (often involving having a certain number of Heart Containers or having learned previous techniques).
  • Blade Brothers and Techniques:
    • Swiftblade: Located in the Castor Wilds. Teaches the Spin Attack (required).
    • Grayblade: Found in Mt. Crenel. Teaches the Rock Breaker.
    • Waveblade: In the Veil Falls area. Teaches the Dash Attack.
    • Greatblade: In the Wind Ruins. Teaches the Down Thrust.
    • Splitblade: Inside the Royal Valley. Teaches the Roll Attack.
    • Grimblade: In the Western Wood. Teaches the Peril Beam.
    • Blastblade: Located in the Minish Woods. Teaches the Sword Beam (only available at full health).
    • Swiftblade the Younger: Found in Hyrule Town (after completing the game). Teaches the Great Spin Attack, the ultimate sword technique, which requires all other techniques to be learned.

Figurine Collection

The Figurine Collection at Carlov's Shop in Hyrule Town is a fun, albeit time-consuming, post-game activity. There are 130 unique figurines to collect, each representing a character, enemy, or item from the game. You obtain them by trading Mysterious Shells at Carlov's shop.

  • Strategy:
    1. Gather Mysterious Shells: These are dropped by enemies, found in chests, or rewarded for completing certain tasks. The best farming spots are often areas with high enemy density, such as the Castor Wilds or the Dark Hyrule Castle.
    2. Visit Carlov: Pay 10 Mysterious Shells to Carlov for a chance at a new figurine. He'll give you a hint about which figurine you're likely to get next.
    3. Save Scumming (Optional): If you're struggling to get a specific figurine, you can save your game before talking to Carlov. If you don't get the figurine you want, reset the game and try again. This can save you a lot of Mysterious Shells.
  • Rewards: Completing the entire collection earns you the Carlov's Medal, a purely cosmetic item, but the true reward is the satisfaction of seeing your complete collection displayed.

Rupee Farming

While Rupees aren't strictly necessary after beating the game, you might want to amass a fortune for fun or to buy out all the shops. The largest wallet holds 999 Rupees.

  • Best Farming Spots:
    • Dark Hyrule Castle: Enemies here drop a good amount of Rupees, and there are many pots and chests to break open.
    • Royal Valley: The Moblins and other enemies in this area can be good sources of Rupees.
    • Kinstone Fusions: Many fusions reward large sums of Rupees.
    • Gasha Nuts: Plant Gasha Nuts in various Gasha Spots around Hyrule. After some time, they will grow and yield various items, including Rupees.
