Hunting Falcons & Birds
In The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy, the art of falconry offers a unique and rewarding pastime for your noble Sims. This skill allows them to train and bond with falcons, which can then be used for hunting small game. To begin, Sims will need to acquire a falcon. These majestic birds are not found in the wild but can be purchased from specialized vendors within the Kingdom of Eldoria, often found near the Royal Aviary. The initial cost for a young falcon can range from 500 Simoleons, depending on its rarity and potential. Once acquired, the falcon needs to be trained. This involves a series of interactions, primarily focused on the Bond with Falcon and Train Falcon social options. These actions increase the falcon's Hunting Skill, which caps at level 10. A higher skill level directly translates to a greater chance of success when sending the falcon out to hunt. Sims can send their falcons to hunt for various small creatures, including rabbits, squirrels, and even small birds. The success rate is influenced by the falcon's skill, the Sim's relationship with the bird, and the chosen hunting location. Some areas within Eldoria, such as the Whispering Woods or the Royal Hunting Grounds, offer a higher probability of finding prey. Successful hunts can yield valuable resources, such as Rabbit Pelts, Squirrel Tails, and various feathers, which can be used for crafting, decoration, or sold for a profit. A particularly rare find could be a Golden Feather, highly prized for its beauty and value. Sims can also engage in Falconry Competitions, which test their falcon's speed, agility, and hunting prowess against other noble falconers. Winning these competitions can earn prestige and unique rewards, further enhancing a Sim's standing within the kingdom. Neglecting a falcon's needs, such as failing to feed it or neglecting its training, can lead to a decrease in its skill and even a loss of bond, potentially causing the falcon to fly away permanently. Therefore, consistent care and training are paramount for a successful falconry endeavor.
