The 'Skill Master' Build
The 'Skill Master' build focuses on maximizing your Sim's abilities across various skills and completing collections. This playstyle is deeply integrated with the revamped item collection system, which links aspirations to collecting. Mastering skills like Gardening and Archaeology will unlock unique items and opportunities for your Sim.
To become a skill master:
- Collections: The Sims 4 features a revamped item collection system compared to The Sims 3, making it a larger aspect of the game, and linking various aspirations to it. There are currently 16 collections in the Base Game, 5 collections that are exclusive to limited-timed events, and 26 additional collections from content packs. Collecting is not a skill that Sims can develop.
- Elements: There are 15 elements in the base game and 1 in Get to Work, bringing the current total to 16. They are collected through sending crystals and metals to the Geo Council. If Jungle Adventure is installed, elements can also be extracted using an archaeology table. Vampires with the "vampiric strength" skill maxed out can crush crystals and metals in their inventory to elements instantly.
- Magic Beans: There are 6 magic beans to be collected. This collection was added in patch 49. The "PlantSim" challenge could be collected by asking various PlantSims. After the challenge ended, the only way to obtain the beans is via the "Rare Seeds" packet after mastering the gardening skill.
