Career Paths & Skill Development
Developing skills and pursuing career paths are central to The Sims 4 gameplay. Sims can advance in various professions, with some careers offering unique opportunities like exploring hidden worlds or collecting rare items. Skill development is often linked to aspirations and can unlock new interactions and gameplay features.
The Life and Death expansion, releasing October 31, 2024, adds two new careers. For those interested in collecting, the Scientist Career allows access to the planet Sixam, where Geodes can be found. Alternatively, leveling Rocket Science to 10 and upgrading a rocket to enter wormholes also provides access to Sixam. Geodes have an environment rating of 3.
The Sims 4 features a revamped item collection system compared to The Sims 3, making it a larger aspect of the game and linking various aspirations to it. There are currently 16 collections in the Base Game, 5 collections exclusive to limited-timed events, and 26 additional collections.
