Seasonal Content & Rewards
The Division 2's seasonal structure offers a rotating array of challenges and exclusive rewards, keeping the endgame fresh and engaging. Each season typically runs for 12 weeks and introduces a new Manhunt target, Global Events, Leagues, and Apparel Events, all tied into a seasonal progression track.
Seasonal Progression Track
The core of seasonal content is the 100-level Seasonal Progression Track. Earning XP from virtually any activity in the game contributes to your seasonal level. Each level unlocks a reward, ranging from caches and crafting materials to exclusive gear, weapons, and cosmetics. There are two reward tracks:
- Free Track: Available to all players, offering a substantial amount of rewards.
- Season Pass Track: Purchased separately, this track offers additional, often more premium, rewards at each level, including exclusive apparel, weapon skins, and sometimes even unique exotic components or named items.
Strategy: To maximize your seasonal progression, focus on activities that grant high XP. These include:
- Control Points: Capturing and defending Control Points, especially at higher alert levels, provides excellent XP.
- Bounties: Completing daily and weekly bounties offers significant XP bonuses.
- Summit: Grinding floors in The Summit, particularly with directives active, is a highly efficient XP farm.
- Global Events: Participating in active Global Events (see below) often comes with substantial XP multipliers for relevant activities.
- Directives: Always run with as many Directives as you can comfortably manage in open-world activities, missions, and The Summit. Each active Directive increases your XP gain by 25%.
Manhunts
Each season features a new Manhunt, culminating in the pursuit of a primary target. The Manhunt unfolds in stages:
- Eliminate Lieutenants: You'll need to track down and eliminate four distinct Rogue Agents, known as Lieutenants. Each Lieutenant is tied to a specific mission or open-world activity that becomes available on the seasonal map.
- Unlock the Prime Target: Once all four Lieutenants are eliminated, the mission to confront the Prime Target becomes available. This is usually a unique, challenging mission with bespoke mechanics.
Rewards: Successfully completing the Manhunt, including eliminating the Prime Target, typically rewards you with a new, exclusive Skill Variant. For example, previous seasons have offered the "EMP Sticky Bomb" or the "Repair Trap." These skill variants can significantly alter gameplay and build potential.
Actionable Steps:
- Open your Mega-Map and navigate to the "Seasons" tab.
- Select the current Manhunt to see the active Lieutenants and their associated missions/locations.
- Complete the designated activities (e.g., "Federal Emergency Bunker - Manhunt: Lieutenant Name") to progress.
- Once all Lieutenants are down, the Prime Target mission will appear on your map. Prioritize completing this for the unique skill unlock.
Global Events
Global Events are week-long modifiers that dramatically change gameplay. They rotate throughout the season, offering unique challenges and opportunities for bonus rewards.
Examples of Global Events:
- Reanimated: Enemies drop a toxic cloud upon death, damaging nearby agents. Headshots on enemies cause them to explode, dealing damage to others.
- Guardians: Certain enemies are designated as "Guardians." Killing them grants a powerful buff to you and your allies, but also makes other enemies temporarily invulnerable until the Guardian is defeated.
- Polarity Switch: Agents and enemies have a "polarity." Attacking enemies with the opposite polarity deals increased damage, while attacking with the same polarity heals them. Switching polarity is done by reloading or using a skill.
Rewards: Participating in Global Events and completing associated challenges (e.g., "Eliminate 50 enemies with headshots during Reanimated") earns you Global Event Stars. These stars can be spent at the Global Event Vendor in the Base of Operations for:
- Named Item Caches: Guaranteed named items, often with specific rolls.
- Exotic Caches: A chance at a random exotic weapon or gear piece.
- Optimization Caches: Containing optimization materials like Field Recon Data, SHD Calibration, and Control Point Blueprints.
Strategy: Actively participate in Global Events, as they are excellent for farming specific gear and optimization materials. Check the Global Event menu (accessible via the Mega-Map's "Seasons" tab) for daily and weekly challenges to maximize your Star accumulation.
Leagues
Leagues are competitive, time-gated challenges that test your efficiency in various activities. They typically run for two weeks and focus on specific mission speed runs, skill kills, or faction eliminations.
Examples of League Challenges:
- Time Trials: Complete specific missions (e.g., "District Union Arena") on Hard or Challenging difficulty within a target time.
- Eliminations: Defeat a certain number of enemies from a specific faction (e.g., "True Sons Eliminations").
- Skill Kills: Achieve a high number of kills using specific skills (e.g., "Turret Kills").
Rewards: Achieving higher ranks in League challenges (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) grants League Caches. These caches contain several rewards, including:
- Named Items: Often with higher attribute rolls.
- Exotic Components: Materials needed for crafting or upgrading exotics.
- Optimization Materials: Valuable resources for fine-tuning your builds.
- Exclusive Patches and Trophies: Cosmetic rewards to show off your achievements.
Actionable Steps:
- Access the "Seasons" tab on your Mega-Map and select the active League.
- Review the challenges for the current week.
- Prioritize activities that align with the League challenges. For example, if it's a "District Union Arena Speed Run" challenge, focus on optimizing your build for that mission and practicing efficient routes.
- Team up with other agents for speed runs, as coordination is key to achieving Platinum ranks.
Apparel Events
Apparel Events are special, limited-time events that allow players to earn exclusive cosmetic items (outfits, masks, weapon skins, emotes) through Apparel Caches. These caches are earned by gaining XP and leveling up during the event period.
How to Earn Apparel Caches:
- Simply play the game and earn XP. Every few levels, you'll earn an Apparel Cache key.
- You can also purchase Apparel Cache keys directly from the in-game store with Premium Credits.
Rewards: Each Apparel Event has a unique collection of cosmetic items. Collecting all items in an event often grants a bonus, exclusive reward, such as a full outfit or a unique weapon skin.
Strategy: If there's an Apparel Event active, simply playing the game and progressing through your seasonal levels will naturally earn you keys. If you're aiming to complete the entire collection, consider focusing on high-XP activities during the event duration.
