Puzzle Solutions

Aida is a vast world filled with mysteries, and many of these manifest as environmental puzzles. Solving these puzzles often rewards you with valuable resources like Dark Crystals, Gold Nuclei, Black Nuclei, and Data Packs. This section provides detailed walkthroughs for common puzzle types you'll encounter across various regions.

Chrono Rifts (Time-Locked Chests)

Chrono Rifts are shimmering, ethereal chests that are initially inaccessible. To open them, you must activate a nearby Chrono Rift Device and defeat a wave of enemies within a time limit.

  • Identification: Look for a swirling blue-purple anomaly in the air, often with a chest suspended within it. A small, glowing device will typically be found within a short distance.
  • Activation: Interact with the Chrono Rift Device (often a small, glowing pillar or console) to initiate the challenge.
  • Strategy:
    1. Preparation: Ensure your weapons are charged and your Elemental Burst is ready. Consider bringing a weapon with good area-of-effect (AoE) capabilities.
    2. Enemy Waves: The device will summon 1-3 waves of enemies. These can range from standard Hyenas to more formidable Aberrants or even Elite enemies.
    3. Time Limit: A timer will appear on your screen. You must defeat all enemies before it runs out.
    4. Reward: Successfully clearing the waves will de-materialize the rift, allowing you to open the chest and claim your rewards.
  • Common Locations: Chrono Rifts are prevalent in Astra, Banges, and Navia. They are often found near ruins, abandoned camps, or elevated platforms.

Singularity Rocks

These large, dark, crystalline formations block pathways or conceal hidden chests. They require a specific elemental interaction to destroy.

  • Identification: Singularity Rocks are easily recognizable by their jagged, dark appearance and often have a faint glow.
  • Required Item: You'll need a Fire Core to destroy them. These are typically found in the immediate vicinity, often guarded by enemies or hidden in plain sight.
  • Strategy:
    1. Locate Fire Core: Search the area around the Singularity Rock for a glowing red orb – this is the Fire Core.
    2. Pick Up: Interact with the Fire Core to pick it up. Your character will carry it.
    3. Throw: Aim at the Singularity Rock and use the designated throw action (usually a weapon skill button) to hurl the Fire Core at it.
    4. Explosion: The Fire Core will explode upon impact, destroying the Singularity Rock and revealing what was behind it.
  • Common Locations: Singularity Rocks are frequently encountered in Banges and Crown Mines, often blocking cave entrances or revealing supply pods.

Dandelion Puzzles

These charming puzzles involve interacting with large dandelions to reveal hidden Black Nuclei.

  • Identification: Look for oversized dandelions with glowing seeds.
  • Strategy:
    1. Attack: Use any weapon to attack the large dandelion. A single hit is usually sufficient.
    2. Seed Release: The dandelion will release several smaller, glowing seeds into the air.
    3. Chase and Collect: Quickly chase after these seeds. They will float for a short period before disappearing. Intercepting a seed will grant you a Black Nucleus.
    4. Timing is Key: Be swift, as the seeds despawn quickly. Using a weapon with good mobility or a ranged attack can help.
  • Common Locations: Dandelion puzzles are scattered across all regions, particularly in open fields and grassy areas of Astra, Banges, and Navia.

Tar Pits / Lava Pits

These environmental hazards often conceal rewards or block paths. They require a specific elemental interaction to clear.

  • Identification: Look for bubbling pools of black tar or glowing red lava.
  • Required Item: You'll need a Frost Core for tar pits or a Hydro Core for lava pits. These cores are typically found nearby.
  • Strategy:
    1. Locate Core: Find the appropriate core for the pit type. Frost Cores are blue-white orbs, while Hydro Cores are light blue orbs.
    2. Pick Up & Throw: Pick up the core and throw it directly into the pit.
    3. Effect:
      • Tar Pits: A Frost Core will freeze the tar, allowing you to walk across it or access a submerged chest.
      • Lava Pits: A Hydro Core will cool the lava, creating a solid platform or revealing a hidden path.
  • Common Locations: Tar Pits are common in Banges and Crown Mines, while Lava Pits are almost exclusively found in Crown Mines and Vera's volcanic areas.

Force Field Barriers

These shimmering energy barriers block access to certain areas or valuable resources. They require a specific energy source to deactivate.

  • Identification: A translucent, often blue or green, energy wall.
  • Required Item: You'll need to find and activate a nearby Supply Pod Power Source or Energy Converter. These are usually small, glowing consoles or generators.
  • Strategy:
    1. Scan the Area: Look for cables leading away from the force field. These cables will often lead to the power source.
    2. Activate Power Source: Interact with the Supply Pod Power Source or Energy Converter. This might involve a simple button press or a quick mini-game.
    3. Deactivation: Once activated, the force field will dissipate, granting you access.
  • Common Locations: Force Field Barriers are frequently found in abandoned research facilities, military outposts, and hidden bunkers across Astra, Banges, and Crown Mines.
