Weapon Types & Rarities

A guide to weapon types and rarities in Swordburst 2. Learn about Commons, Rares, Legendaries, Tributes, and Bursts, and how they affect upgrades and drop chances.

Hey there! So you're diving into Swordburst 2 and wondering about all the different weapons and how rare they are? Let's break it down. First off, there are 6 main weapon types you'll be using: longswords, greatswords, rapiers, katanas, spears, and scythes. There are some variations, but they mostly just change how your character looks and how far your attacks reach, not the core combat mechanics. ## Rarity Rarity is a pretty big deal for your gear. It affects two main things: how likely an item is to drop (unless it's a special 'burst' item) and how many times you can upgrade it. Generally, rarity also gives you a hint about the 'Max level' for a certain floor. For example, legendary drops on floor 9 used to mean level 85 was the cap back then. Here's how many times you can upgrade items based on their rarity (you'll need Upgrade Crystals for this): * Commons and Uncommons: Can be upgraded to +10 * Rares: Can be upgraded to +15 * Legendaries and Tributes: Can be upgraded to +20 * Bursts: Can be upgraded to +25 Keep in mind, the higher the rarity, the tougher it is to get that item to drop. If you want to know more about drop rates, check out the Mobs/Drops and Chests pages. ## Auras Don't confuse rarity with Auras! Auras are purely cosmetic items you can get from Aura Chests, the Burst Store, or by trading. They don't give you any extra stats; they just change how your character and gear look. Think of them as purely for style points! ## Items This page lists all 1,514 items in Swordburst 2, sorted by type and level. As of April 14, 2026, the list includes: * 210 Longswords * 168 Greatswords * 135 Katanas * 146 Rapiers * 91 Spears * 55 Scythes * 111 Armors * 235 Accessories * 35 Companions * 328 Auras ### Longswords Longswords are one-handed weapons that hit 16 times every 10 seconds with a 12% critical chance. You can dual-wield them, but if the swords have different stats or upgrade levels, your damage will be an average. The attack pattern is usually two strikes in one direction, then one in the opposite (45-45-45). * Dual Wielding: You can use two longswords at once. The damage calculation for dual-wielding is 60% of your Right Hand's sword damage plus 40% of your Left Hand's sword damage. Critical chance is calculated similarly. For the best results, it's usually better to just use the stronger sword alone, unless the extra skill damage and attack radius from dual-wielding are super important. * Important Note: If you dual-wield two identical weapons, the damage is the same as single-wielding. Your critical chance and attack speed don't increase. The main changes are your attack radius and the combined regeneration boosts. This means you'll almost always lose damage if you pair a stronger sword with a weaker one, rather than just using the stronger one by itself. * Sub-categories: Longswords have more sub-categories than other weapon types, including Axes, Daggers, Fans, and Hammers. ### Hammers/Axes/Scythes These weapons function pretty much the same as Longswords: 16 hits per 10 seconds with a 12% critical chance. The main differences are their visual models and hitboxes. ### Daggers/Fans/Discs/Pillars/Fists (The source text cuts off here, so we can't go into detail about these specific weapon types.)
