Zariman and Angels of the Zariman
The Zariman Ten Zero, a ghost ship adrift in the Void, is a pivotal location for endgame progression in Warframe. Unlocked after completing the The New War quest, this derelict vessel offers unique challenges, powerful rewards, and a deeper dive into the lore of the Tenno. Prepare for encounters with the terrifying Angels of the Zariman and a host of new enemy types.
Accessing the Zariman
Once you've concluded The New War, the Zariman Ten Zero will appear as a new node on your Star Chart, accessible from your Orbiter. There are no specific prerequisites beyond quest completion, but a well-modded Warframe and weapons are highly recommended due to the increased difficulty of Zariman missions.
Zariman Mission Types and Rewards
The Zariman features several unique mission types, each offering different rewards and challenges. All Zariman missions award Voidplume Quills, Voidplume Pinions, and Voidplume Vanes, which are crucial for ranking up with the Holdfasts syndicate.
- Exterminate: Standard extermination with a Zariman twist. Expect tougher enemies and environmental hazards.
- Void Armageddon: Defend a series of Void-powered devices from waves of enemies. Requires strategic placement and strong crowd control.
- Void Cascade: A unique mission where you must cleanse "Exolizers" by entering the Void as your Operator/Drifter and defeating the Manifestation within. This is a primary source of Void Traces and Zariman Bounties.
- Void Flood: Collect "Vitoplast" from fallen enemies and deposit them into a central device to prevent it from overflowing with Void energy. Fast-paced and rewards quick movement.
- Mobile Defense: Defend mobile data points as they traverse the Zariman's treacherous corridors.
Zariman Bounties
Similar to other open-world zones, the Zariman offers Bounties from the Holdfasts syndicate members in the Chrysalith social hub. These Bounties provide additional rewards, including:
- Zariman Weapon Blueprints (e.g., Phenmor, Laetum, Felarx)
- Incarnon Genesis adapters for specific weapons
- Arcane Enhancements (e.g., Arcane Steadfast, Arcane Blessing)
- Focus Lenses (Eidolon, Lua)
- Void Relics
Angels of the Zariman: Encountering the Void's Wrath
The Angels of the Zariman are formidable boss-like enemies that appear in various Zariman missions, particularly Void Cascade and Void Flood. There are two main types:
Void Angel (Exolizer Guardian)
These Angels are encountered during the Void Cascade mission. They guard the Exolizers and require a specific strategy to defeat:
- Phase 1 (Warframe): Damage the Angel's health bar until it becomes invulnerable.
- Phase 2 (Operator/Drifter): Switch to your Operator/Drifter and use your Void abilities to destroy the glowing "Void Tendrils" that tether the Angel. There are typically three tendrils.
- Phase 3 (Warframe): Once the tendrils are destroyed, the Angel becomes vulnerable again. Repeat Phase 1 and 2 until defeated.
Strategy Tip: Bring a Warframe with good crowd control or survivability for Phase 1, and an Operator/Drifter build with high Amp damage for Phase 2. The Shattershot or Cantic Prisma Amps are excellent choices.
Zariman Void Angel (Wandering Boss)
These larger, more aggressive Angels can randomly spawn in any Zariman mission. They are more challenging and have a wider array of attacks:
- Phase 1 (Warframe): Deal damage to the Angel's health. It will periodically summon Void Specters and unleash powerful AoE attacks.
- Phase 2 (Operator/Drifter): When its health is depleted, the Angel will enter a "spirit" form, becoming invulnerable to Warframe damage. Switch to your Operator/Drifter and attack its spectral form.
- Phase 3 (Warframe): After sufficient Operator/Drifter damage, the Angel will return to its physical form, vulnerable to Warframe attacks again. Repeat until defeated.
Strategy Tip: A well-rounded Warframe with high damage output and survivability is key. Consider frames like Revenant, Rhino, or Volt. For your Operator/Drifter, focus on a high-damage Amp and the Vazarin or Madurai Focus schools for increased survivability or damage respectively.
The Holdfasts Syndicate and Chrysalith Hub
The Chrysalith is the social hub of the Zariman, similar to Cetus or Fortuna. Here, you'll find the Holdfasts syndicate, led by Quinn, Yonta, and Cavalero. Ranking up with the Holdfasts is essential for unlocking new items, including:
- Incarnon Weapons and their blueprints
- Archon Shards (weekly from Chipper)
- Zariman Syandanas and other cosmetics
- Focus Lenses (Greater and Eidolon)
- Voidshell Skins
You'll need to gather various Voidplumes (Quills, Pinions, Vanes, Crests, Eyes) found throughout Zariman missions to offer to the Holdfasts and increase your standing.
Essential Gear for the Zariman
To thrive on the Zariman, consider bringing:
- Powerful Primary/Secondary Weapons: Enemies are tough, so high-damage, well-modded weapons are crucial. Corrosive or Viral damage types are generally effective.
- Strong Melee Weapon: For close-quarters combat and dealing with swarms of enemies.
- Reliable Warframe: Choose a Warframe with good survivability, crowd control, or high damage output. Examples include Revenant, Rhino, Wukong, Saryn, or Nidus.
- High-Damage Amp: Essential for dealing with Angels and other Void-sensitive enemies in Operator/Drifter form. The Xaktal, Klamora, or Cantic Prisma are popular choices.
- Focus School: Madurai for increased Amp damage, Vazarin for healing and survivability, or Zenurik for energy regeneration are all viable.
General Zariman Tips
- Explore Thoroughly: The Zariman tilesets are vast and contain hidden rooms, caches, and Voidplumes. Use your minimap and listen for audio cues.
- Beware of Thrax Units: These spectral enemies are immune to Warframe damage until you hit them with your Operator/Drifter's Void Blast. Defeating them drops Void Traces.
- Environmental Hazards: Watch out for Void fissures, energy fields, and other environmental dangers that can quickly deplete your shields or health.
- Solo vs. Squad: While many Zariman missions can be soloed, playing in a squad can make Bounties and Angel encounters significantly easier, especially for newer players.
- Resource Management: Keep an eye on your energy and health. Energy Orbs are less common, so bring Energy Pads or use a Warframe with good energy economy.
Mastering the Zariman and its challenges will unlock some of the most powerful gear and customization options in Warframe, making it a crucial step in your journey as a Tenno.
