Understanding and exploiting Line of Sight (LoS) and the Fog of War is a fundamental aspect of strategic play in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4. The Fog of War obscures areas of the map that your units cannot currently see, hiding enemy movements and dispositions. Conversely, Line of Sight dictates which units can target which enemies. Terrain, buildings, and even other units can block Line of Sight, creating blind spots and opportunities for ambushes. Mastering these mechanics allows you to control information flow and dictate engagements. For example, positioning your units behind a ridge or within a dense forest can grant them a significant advantage, allowing them to observe enemy movements without being detected or targeted themselves. This is particularly useful for setting up ambushes or for scouting enemy positions before committing your main force.
