General Achievements
This section details achievements that you'll likely unlock as you progress through the main story, explore the vibrant cities of Renaissance Italy, and engage with the core mechanics of Assassin's Creed II. These are generally straightforward and don't require significant deviation from your natural gameplay flow. Focus on enjoying the narrative and exploring the world, and many of these will pop without conscious effort.
- Welcome to the Animus 2.0: This achievement is awarded automatically upon starting a new game and entering the Animus for the first time. You literally cannot miss it.
- The Birth of an Assassin: Complete Sequence 1. This is story-related and will unlock as you progress through the initial tutorial missions in Florence.
- Vengeance: Complete Sequence 2. Continue the main story to earn this.
- Exit the Animus: This achievement is awarded when you exit the Animus for the first time as Desmond Miles. This is a mandatory story event.
- The Merchant of Venice: Complete Sequence 8. Keep following the main questline to reach Venice and complete this sequence.
- An Old Friend: Complete Sequence 10. This is another story-related achievement that will unlock as you advance through the narrative.
- The Prophet: Complete Sequence 14. This marks the culmination of the main story and will unlock automatically upon its completion.
- Undertaker: Discover the Assassin's Tomb in the Auditore Family Crypt. This tomb is part of the main story progression in Florence, specifically during Sequence 4. You'll be directed there.
- Sweeper: Sweep 5 guards off their feet at once using a long weapon. This can be easily achieved by acquiring a spear or halberd from a guard, then finding a group of five or more guards. Hold down the attack button to perform a sweeping attack. A good spot is often near guard posts or during larger skirmishes.
- No Hitter: Kill 10 enemies in a single fight without being hit. This requires good counter-attack timing. Engage a group of guards, and focus on countering their attacks. If you get hit, restart the fight or find another group. Using smoke bombs can also create openings for quick, unhindered kills.
