Upon your arrival at the perimeter of the experimental complex, your immediate objective is to conduct a thorough reconnaissance of the surrounding area. The path ahead is heavily overgrown, a testament to nature's reclamation, but also a harbinger of new, organic threats. Remain vigilant and methodical in your approach.

Perimeter Reconnaissance & Initial Threats

Follow the designated, albeit dilapidated, path that winds through the dense, overgrown exterior. This initial stretch serves as an introduction to the unique environmental hazards and new enemy types you'll encounter in Annihilation Instinct.

• Pathfinding: Stick to the main path, but be prepared to deviate slightly to scavenge for resources or bypass obstacles. Your scanner (V key on PC, L3 on PlayStation, Left Stick Button on Xbox) is invaluable here for highlighting interactive elements and hidden pathways.
• New Enemy Alert: The primary threat in this area comes from the newly introduced plant-based enemies. These bio-engineered flora are masters of camouflage and often ambush from dense foliage.
  • Pod-Spitter: These stationary, plant-like turrets are often camouflaged as large, thorny bushes. They fire corrosive projectiles that can quickly deplete your shield and health.
    • Combat Tip: Prioritize these targets. Use cover to break line of sight, then flank them. A few well-placed shots from your KS-23 Shotgun or a charged attack from a melee weapon like the Fox can destroy them quickly. Their weak point is often the central "bud" when it's exposed.
