Zi: Modified Lab Coat & Bioflux Accelerator 1

Learn how to get the Modified Lab Coat and Bioflux Accelerator 1 in Axiom Verge, including strategies to defeat the boss Uruku.

Head left into the first vertical room, then use your higher jump to exit through the top left door. Continue right until you reach another vertical room and head up. At the top, use the door on your left to save, then head right to face the next boss.

Boss Fight 3: Uruku

Uruku has many breakable parts; his main body is invulnerable until some are destroyed. The pink parts on his tail lob exploding energy balls. To destroy them, jump to the bottom-most pink block and fire with the Axiom Disruptor. Retreat when an orb is coming, then return to attack. Uruku may also charge a green laser; retreat to where you entered the room to avoid it. Once the bottom parts are destroyed, wait for a clear moment and jump onto the middle-most pink block. Uruku will crouch and fire many shots. Mash fire while he screams, then jump away from the bullet barrage. You can hit his laser arm before retreating. Standing on the second highest pink block keeps you safe from all attacks. Once the laser breaks, target the top guns from the top-most pink block. After they are down, use your Address Disruptor to create pink blocks in front of you. Jump onto them, hold L1, aim diagonally downward towards the boss's mouth, and fire until he dies.

Alternate Strategy

Look to the top center of the screen for a single pink block. Use the Address Disruptor to create footholds leading to it. Stand on that block, equip the Firewall, and lob shots downward into his mouth when it opens. This position is safe from all attacks.

Once Uruku is defeated, make your way right by creating blocks near the bottom with your Address Disruptor. Head into the top door. Activate the pink switch, then head right to find the Modified Lab Coat. This item lets you phase through walls by running up beside them and double-tapping the direction of the wall (while holding that direction). Use it to leave the room, then return to the boss room. Re-make footholds to reach the spot next to the Health Node. Phase through the wall there and pick up Health Node 3 of 9. Backtrack to the vertical room.

Drop down until you reach the bottom right door and enter it. Defeat the enemies, then jump onto the floating block. Use your drill to break blocks in the ceiling between the two floating blocks to reveal the text document Security Notice (which will appear as gibberish). Return to the prior vertical room and head down to the path you've already been through. Enter that doorway and go to the middle of the room to find a large floating block. Jump onto it, then jump up and to the right into the false ceiling to find Size Node 3 of 4.

Return to the previous vertical room, drop down, and enter the left door. Drill up into the center of the ceiling to reveal a hidden pathway. Jump up and then up and to the left to collect Health Node Fragment 1 of 20. Continue left to the room past the save point.

Defeat the Scorpiant enemy up and to your left. Hug the wall to the left and phase through it. Walk behind another wall to pick up Range Node 1 of 4. Go through the door at the top left of this area and follow the path to the optional upgrade Bioflux Accelerator 1, which gives you scorpion-like appendages that shoot bullets forward at max health. Backtrack all the way up and to the right to get back to Kur.
