Master Black Desert Online terrain effects and combat. Learn movement speeds, first strike tactics, and how to use units effectively.

Terrain Effects:

• Ocean: Only aircraft (planes) can traverse water, offering opportunities for stealth attacks.
• Road: Provides the fastest movement speed.
• Desert/Grass: Offers moderate movement speed.
• Rocks: Significantly slows down movement.

Combat Tips:

• You can move and attack if you end your turn adjacent to an enemy, but enemies cannot do the same to you.
• If you make a move and wish to cancel it, press the B button when the dialogue box prompts "We've made our max move" or "Would you like to attack?".
• Position artillery units behind more defensively strong units, ideally on oases (fertile land).
• Strategically lure enemies to approach you rather than initiating the engagement yourself.
• Enemy units with fewer than four soldiers remaining are unlikely to attack; focus your efforts on healthier enemy units instead.
• Defending yourself when attacked consumes ammunition. Be mindful of your ammo count, as defending could deplete all your remaining rounds. Resupply before your ammunition runs critically low.
• The primary win condition is the destruction of the enemy HQ (Headquarters), so prioritize attacking it.
• It is not necessary to field every unit type in every battle. Concentrate on units that provide a tactical advantage against the specific enemy units you are facing.
• Utilize towns and airports frequently to enhance your units' strength.
• Transport trucks offer a unique advantage: after deploying infantry, the truck gains its own turn. This allows you to position the truck to block enemy HQ movement, then use the deployed infantry for an ambush attack.
• Enemy aircraft will avoid anti-aircraft (AA) guns. You can chase them by using a movement boost trick: if a plane is just beyond your normal movement range, try moving towards another enemy unit first. Then, attack the plane using the extended range provided by the AA gun.
• Avoid attacking an enemy unit if your unit has a significant disadvantage, unless you are attacking the enemy HQ.
• Always aim to achieve
