Walkthrough

Make your way right through Egg Corridor, defeating critters and the larger bugs that now shoot two energy balls.

If overwhelmed by bugs, drop down to the corridor previously inhabited by the white shockwave of death.

Avoid the zombie dragons that shoot flames; they can be killed with a fully-charged Spur or the Snake. Use the Booster frequently.

At the location of Egg No. 12, kill the guarding zombie dragon and open the chest to receive a Missile Expansion.

Head back up, avoiding falling stalactites, and proceed to Cthulhu's Abode.

Navigate Cthulhu's Abode, avoiding Presses and spikes, and exit through the door at the top.

Continue through Egg Corridor, watching for stalactites and killing two dragon zombies.

Past the dragon zombies, you will find a yellow-green floating gaseous entity. Shooting it or approaching it activates a countdown timer; move far away to avoid the explosion, or destroy it before it detonates.

Continue right, killing monsters. At Egg No. 05, follow the narrow, winding path downwards, avoiding falling stalactites until you reach a safe spot.

Head up, kill the zombie dragon, and enter the Egg Observation Room through the broken window.

In the Egg Observation Room, jump onto the central platform and open the chest to get a Missile Expansion.

Defeat the ambushing pair of dragons, The Sisters.

After defeating The Sisters, save and exit through the broken window on the right.

Immediately after entering Egg Corridor again, watch out for a falling stalactite.

Continue right, avoiding spikes and enemies, until you reach the end of Egg Corridor.

Enter the Side Room (the door on the right). Save and heal here.

Exit the Side Room and enter the other door, which contained Egg No. 00.

Examine the computer in Egg No. 00. A cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) will play, allowing you to choose between the bad ending or the good/great endings.

After the cutscene, exit through the newly-opened door.

Tips

The large bugs in Egg Corridor shoot two energy balls.
Zombie dragons' flames do surprising damage; avoid them and kill them with a charged Spur or the Snake.
Falling stalactites can become embedded in the ground and require many hits to destroy.
The gaseous entity in Egg Corridor explodes with a large radius if not destroyed quickly.
You can skip the fight with The Sisters by not opening the chest in the Egg Observation Room and heading out the right window, but you will miss a Missile Expansion.
The Sisters share the same health bar.
The fire attack from The Sisters can be destroyed with a quick weapon.
Shooting The Sisters when they open their mouths will stun them and cancel their fire attack.
The Sisters are impervious to damage at first; wait for them to attack.
Only the Polar Star upgrade is needed for the fight against The Sisters.
A stalactite will drop immediately upon re-entering Egg Corridor after the boss fight.
The cutscene after examining the computer in Egg No. 00 determines the ending you receive.
