Navigate Deliver At All Costs' physics-based puzzles and interactions. Get expert tips on missions, vehicle mechanics, and gadget usage to complete deliveries with ease.
Hey there! So you're diving into Deliver At All Costs and want to get a handle on those wacky physics-based puzzles and interactions? You've come to the right place! This game throws some wild stuff at you, and sometimes things can get a bit… chaotic. Don't worry, we'll walk through it together.
First off, let's talk about saving your game. Deliver At All Costs has an auto-save, which is nice, but if you're like me and want to be sure, you can manually save anytime. Just hit the menu, go to Settings, and hit Save. Also, when you're done playing, use the 'Save & Exit' option in Settings before you quit. It's a good habit!
Vehicle trouble? It happens! If your truck gets wrecked or you just plain lose it, don't sweat it. Look for the orange squares on your map – those are phone boxes. Interact with one, and poof! A new vehicle will spawn nearby, and it'll even show up on your map.
Got a damaged ride? Engine damage usually sorts itself out if you just avoid taking more hits. But if a wheel is busted, you'll have to get out and fix it yourself. For fast travel, keep an eye out for boats or trains on the map. Hop on, and they'll zip you across the map for free!
If the cops are on your tail, and let's be honest, they often are, the best escape is a dumpster. Find one, hop in, and they'll eventually give up the chase. Easy peasy.
Now, gadgets! These are super useful. Some, like the crane or winch, you'll get just by playing. Others, like the hell horn, you'll need to develop. You can find blueprints for these by doing side-missions (green question marks) or buying them at shops (dollar signs). Once you have the blueprints and parts (which you can also buy or find in red chests), head back to your apartment/trailer/hideout and use your desk to develop them.
Remember, developing a gadget is only half the battle; you need to equip it. Some missions auto-equip what you need, but otherwise, open your journal, go to Inventory, and equip one delivery gadget (like the crane, used with Square/X) and one auxiliary gadget (like Time Control, used with Circle/B).
Need cash? Missions give you a good chunk, but you can also find yellow 'X' crates scattered around. Smash 'em with your truck or kick 'em if you're on foot for a little extra dough. Every bit helps!
Want to replay a mission? Easy. Open your journal, go to the Notes tab, select the missions log, and pick the one you want to replay. Hit Triangle/Y, and you're back in!
Quick facts: There are 13 chapters and 3 acts in the game. It's single-player only, so no multiplayer here. Expect to spend about 10-15 hours on the main story, and maybe 20+ if you're going for all achievements and side-missions.
Deliver At All Costs Mission Guide: St. Monique Area
Shake, Rattle and Explode
This is your intro mission. Load those fireworks onto your truck and just drive to the delivery spot. The main thing here is to avoid hitting any fireworks that fall on the road. Seriously, one too many hits and your truck might just go boom!
Aways Refreshing
Head to the marked spot and chat with Joey Sweets. Park your truck in the highlighted area and push that box of melons onto the back. Now, you gotta drive to the next location to spray these past-their-use-by-date melons. Drive smoothly, man! Bumping into stuff means losing melons, and you don't want that.
At the next stop, park so the melons can get sucked up and sprayed. Activate the machine, and once they're done, drive your truck to collect them as they're spat out. Drive carefully to the next spot – again, try not to lose too many melons. Park correctly, activate the machine to get them painted, and then carefully drive back to where you started to finish the mission.
Fishing for Love
Drive to the destination. Looks like someone's trying to impress a date with a giant fish! Use your crane (Square/X) to load the fish onto your truck. As you drive, the fish gets hungry and might make your truck swerve. Keep an eye on the fish icons on the map and crash into barrels of food to keep it happy.
At the next spot, park up and paint the fish. Then, drive to the drop-off point. You'll need to feed the fish again on the way. Once you arrive, use your crane to deliver the fish in the marked area.
Up, Up and Astray
Start at We Deliver. Load the balloon machine into your truck and hit the road. Your job is to deliver balloons all over the map. This one's pretty chill, just watch out for ramps and bumps – they can send your truck flying! After all the deliveries, dump the balloon machine where it says to.
A Delicate Machine
Another one starting at We Deliver. Use the winch to load the Seismic machine. Grab the winch from your truck, climb up, hook it to the machine, climb down, and attach it to the machine. Get back in your truck, reel it in, position your vehicle, and lower the machine.
Now, you need to deliver this to an active volcano. When the machine starts acting up in the back, get ready for seismic activity! Things get dicey as you approach the mountain – dodge those falling rocks, they can wreck your truck instantly. But hey, checkpoints are pretty forgiving if you do get hit.
At the mountain's peak, unload the machine. Grab the winch, climb the nearby frame, hook it, climb down, and attach it to the machine. Get in your truck and use the winch to position the machine correctly.
A Five Ton Bird Perch
Drive to the town hall and park near the statue. Get out, and attach the winch from your truck to the statue. Drive away, dragging the statue to the next location. Don't worry if it looks a bit worse for wear by the time you get there.
At your destination, you'll need to load a new statue onto your truck using the winch and a structure. Once it's loaded, drive back to the town hall. Be careful on the way back, though, as multiple seagulls might attack your truck...
