Metal Scraps are a foundational resource in Enshrouded, essential for upgrading your tools, weapons, and armor, and for constructing more advanced crafting stations. You'll primarily find Metal Scraps by salvaging old machinery, broken structures, and defeated robotic enemies. Gathering a steady supply of Metal Scraps is crucial for progressing beyond the early game and enhancing your combat capabilities and base defenses.

The most common source of Metal Scraps is by breaking down scrap metal piles. These can be found scattered throughout the world, often in ruins, abandoned camps, or areas with remnants of past civilizations. Look for piles of rusted metal, broken machinery, or discarded equipment. A pickaxe is required to break these down and extract the Metal Scraps.

Another significant source of Metal Scraps is by defeating certain enemies. Specifically, the Scavenger enemies, often found in early-game areas, frequently drop Metal Scraps upon defeat. As you progress, you'll encounter more advanced robotic enemies that also yield Metal Scraps, sometimes in larger quantities. Keep an eye out for these foes and prioritize engaging them when you need to stock up.

In addition to scrap piles and enemies, you can sometimes find Metal Scraps in chests and containers within ruins and dungeons. Exploring these locations thoroughly can yield a good amount of this valuable resource. Some quests may also reward you with Metal Scraps upon completion.

Once you have a decent amount of Metal Scraps, you'll want to utilize them at your Workbench or Blacksmith's Forge. They are required for crafting better pickaxes and axes, which in turn allow you to mine more valuable ores like Tin and Copper. Metal Scraps are also used to craft basic metal armor and weapons, significantly improving your survivability and damage output.
