1. - Controls

Your Exodus walkthrough begins! Learn how to handle your starting Pistol, find ammo, and deal with early threats like T'vaoans and Suicide Unggoy on Legendary.

Alright, let's get you started on the Exodus mission in Halo: Reach. You're going to begin this one in a rough spot – just a Pistol with limited ammo, and you've taken a nasty fall. Don't worry, we'll get you back on your feet. First things first, look around for some ammo to top off your Pistol. No health packs right away, but no enemies either, so just grab what you can. Soon enough, you'll run into some T'vaoans. Take them out quickly and grab a Plasma Pistol off one of them. It's not ideal, but it'll do for now. Keep pushing forward, and you'll hear about, then encounter, Suicide Unggoy. Your Pistol is good for headshots here, but watch out for those grenades they toss – even in tight spaces, they can get you. Head into the basement area; you'll find more Unggoy, an Armor Lock drop, and some Needlers. Ditch the Plasma Pistol for the Needler – it's much better for close-quarters work. Use the Armor Lock if any Unggoy get too close to detonate, and keep shooting the rest from a distance. Eventually, you'll find stairs leading to an exit and a much-needed Health Pack. Heal up, and let's move on. As you exit, you'll see a Dropship fly by. Ignore it and turn left. At the bottom of some stairs, you'll find a Jiralhanae holding a civilian. If you want to try and save them, you'll need to sprint full speed and get a headshot on the Jiralhanae with your Sniper Rifle. Once that's dealt with, unload your Needler on the Jiralhanae. Grab the MA37 Assault Rifle from the ground and keep advancing. You'll face more T'vaoans and Jiralhanae. Use the environment to your advantage, strafe around, and use grenades if you have them to clear them out. Now, you'll need to do a bit of searching outside. Look for a Sniper Rifle – you'll definitely want it for the next area. Swap it for your Pistol if you have it. Head into the next area and go up the stairs. You'll encounter a lone Unggoy; a quick melee will take care of him. Move into the open area and grab the M392 Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) off the ground. Use this to take out the Jiralhanae at a distance. Even on Legendary, the Minor Jiralhanae go down in a few shots, and Jiralhanae Captains only need about five or six. Clear out the T'vaoans too. Activate the elevator, but be ready – you'll get a message about incoming Phantoms. Head to the left doorway and take out the Unggoy and Minors that appear first. Fall back and swap your DMR for an Assault Rifle. Head back towards the entrance, clearing out any T'vaoans. You might feel bad about losing some civilians and soldiers, but two Chieftains with Gravity Hammers are coming, and dealing with them at range is much easier. Use your Sniper Rifle to put them down, then quickly grab a Gravity Hammer yourself and clear out the rest of the area. Once it's safe, get in the elevator and head out.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Mission Start: The Devil His Due
    1. I've Fallen, and I Don't Want to Get Up: After a fall, find Pistol ammo. Engage T'vaoans, grab a Plasma Pistol. Fight Suicide Unggoy using headshots, watch for grenades. In the basement, defeat more Unggoy, find Armor Lock and Needlers. Swap Plasma Pistol for Needler. Use Armor Lock against close enemies and shoot distant ones. Find stairs, exit, and a Health Pack.
  2. 2
You're one Ugly Mother......: Avoid the Dropship. Turn left. Defeat a Jiralhanae holding a civilian (requires quick SR headshot). Use Needler on the Jiralhanae. Grab the MA37 Assault Rifle. Engage more T'vaoans and Jiralhanae, using strafing and grenades. Find a Sniper Rifle outside, swap for your pistol. In the next area, melee an Unggoy, grab the M392 Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR). Use DMR to kill Jiralhanae at range. Clear T'vaoans. Activate the elevator. Incoming Phantoms: head left, eliminate Unggoy and Minors. Withdraw, swap DMR for Assault Rifle. Return to the entrance, clear T'vaoans. Use Sniper Rifle for two Chieftains with Gravity Hammers. Grab a Gravity Hammer and clear the area. Enter the elevator.
  • Rally Point Alpha: Too Close To The Sun
    1. Look at me, I'm The Rocketeer!: Exit elevators, follow waypoint. Find DMRs; swap Gravity Hammer for DMR if you have Sniper ammo, otherwise keep Gravity Hammer. Grab a Jet Pack. Head to the tall platform (stop one) on the right. Engage Unggoy and Kig-Yar with DMR. Move to the short tower (stop two). Finish Unggoy, then Jiralhanae Minors. Use DMR/Sniper to kill a Chieftain with a Gravity Hammer. Reload DMR from case. On the far side, choose ground path (right, up stairs) or Jet Pack behind enemies. Grab the dropped Gravity Hammer. If taking the ground path, jump to the first level, turn right, eliminate Unggoy. Jump to the top, defeat two Jiralhanae Minors with Spikers, then a Jiralhanae Captain with a Concussion Rifle. If taking stairs, face enemies head-on. Advance when clear.
    2. Reach Out and Touch Something with Sniper Fire: Enter an open courtyard. Approach a small bridge with Deployable Covers. Enemies are on the far side. Method 1 (frontal assault) is not recommended. Method 2: Jet pack into the room below the ground floor on the far left, emerge behind ground enemies for cover and enfilade fire. Method 3 (easiest): Jet pack to the second level on the near side of the bridge. Find DMR ammo and a Sniper Rifle. Use them to clear enemies, starting at ground level from left to right. Engage the chieftain.
  • Tips
    • On Legendary, enemy strengths are significantly higher.
    • Prioritize headshots against Unggoy.
    • Use Armor Lock to defend against close-range threats, especially Suicide Grunts.

    • The Sniper Rifle is crucial for dealing with heavily armored enemies like Chieftains at range.
    • Utilize cover and flanking maneuvers, especially when facing multiple Jiralhanae.
    • The Jet Pack allows for strategic positioning and flanking.
    • Conserve Sniper Rifle ammo for high-priority targets.
    • When facing Chieftains with Gravity Hammers, using the Sniper Rifle from a distance is often the safest approach.
    • After defeating Chieftains, consider picking up their Gravity Hammers for crowd control.
Assisting in the evacuation of civilians from the city.

    Level 1

Your Exodus Level 1 walkthrough: Learn how to speak God's word, convert enemies, gather manna, and find hidden Bible questions to progress.

Alright, welcome to Level 1 of Exodus! This is where we start learning the ropes. Think of it as getting your feet wet with the core mechanics: spreading God's word, dealing with the Israelites' doubts, and gathering supplies. Don't worry, it's pretty straightforward once you know what to look for.

    Walkthrough
    1. 1
Start by heading to the right. You'll hear the 'murmurings of Israel.' Your first task is to speak God's word to them. This will make them disperse easily.
    2. 2
As you move forward, grab the 'manna' that appears. Keep an eye out for more murmurings and repeat the process of speaking God's word to them.
    3. 3
You'll encounter enemies. When you have to, 'convert' them. This is a key mechanic, so get used to it. Keep speaking the word as you go.
    4. 4
Look to the right for a 'Bible Question.' Grab it, then head upwards.
    5. 5
Up there, you'll find more 'Manna.' Grab it, then make your way back to the left.
    6. 6
Head down and grab more 'manna' and another 'Bible Question.'
    7. 7
Now, backtrack and head left again.
    8. 8
Grab the 'manna' and make your way to the bottom of this section.
    9. 9
There's an enemy here; 'convert' them. Then, grab the 'manna' located at the top of this area.
    10. 10
Now, proceed to the right. Grab all the 'mannas' you see in this area.
    11. 11
You'll come across another enemy. You have a choice here: either 'convert' them or 'crush' them.
    12. 12
Pay attention to the middle row – there's a 'hidden Bible question' waiting for you there.
    13. 13
Continue to the right and collect all the 'manna' in this part of the level.
    14. 14
Head up and then to the left. You'll find more 'manna' here; grab it.
    15. 15
Now, move to the right. You'll need to destroy the 'Weaknesses of man.'
    16. 16
As you move forward, stay in the middle row. This is important because there's another 'hidden Bible question' in the middle row of the murmurings of Israel.
    17. 17
Just keep moving through the rest of the path. The 'exit square' will be at the very end.
    Tips
    • Don't ignore the 'manna'; it's your primary resource.
    • Speaking God's word is your main way to deal with the Israelites' doubts and some enemies.
    • Keep an eye out for those hidden 'Bible Questions' – they seem important!
    • The choice to convert or crush an enemy might have consequences later, so be mindful.
