Master Far Cry Primal's Stone Age Arsenal. Learn about bows, spears, clubs, Hunter's Vision, and takedowns to survive Oros.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Activate Hunter's Vision (an essential resource) by pressing the designated button. The screen will slightly fade, and enemies, allies, wildlife, and environmental objects will be highlighted in yellow or red.
  2. 2
Blood trails, mission objectives (like Sayla's green leafs in the mission Deep Wounds), will display in red.
  3. 3
Humans, wildlife, corpses, weapons, climbing interactives, loot bags, and resources (wood, stone, plants) will display yellow.
  4. 4
Rare beasts will trail a yellow haze, and wounded animals a yellow trail.
  5. 5
Hunter's Vision also enhances the owl's scouting capabilities.
  6. 6
To perform a basic takedown, stalk an enemy from behind and initiate the kill when the interactive prompt appears. This skill does not require a skill point.
  7. 7
Takedowns are generous, allowing kills even if the victim turns slightly late. You can also drag a victim's body to hide it.
  8. 8
The bow functions as a Stone Age sniper rifle with good range and stealth. Headshots kill most regular enemies.
  9. 9
The initial bow is crafted early in the game. It can be upgraded to fire faster with the needed resources.
  10. 10
The long bow, a more potent and accurate upgrade, requires completion of a hunting mission and resources from remote areas of Oros. It has a slower rate of fire but magnifies the field of fire.
  11. 11
The double bow requires upgrading Jayma's hut and accumulating rare resources. It is the most powerful bow but expends two arrows per shot. Headshots are generally lethal, except on some mask-wearing elite foes. Body shots are generally lethal to regular foes.
  12. 12
Animal fat can be gathered to craft fire arrows. Arrows can be retrieved from enemy corpses or stashes. Skills can be acquired to craft more arrows from the same resources.
  13. 13
Larger quivers can be crafted, with the ultimate quiver holding forty-eight arrows.
  14. 14
Spears can be crafted early and are an essential resource. They can be thrust for moderate damage or thrown for heavier damage. Thrown spears can be retrieved.
  15. 15
Spears can be set afire to kill or repel animals, light dark areas, or burn flammable items.
  16. 16
The Spear Belt can be upgraded to hold six spears, a high priority. The spear has high damage and surprisingly good range.
  17. 17
The club is the primary melee weapon, invaluable for close combat. It can be thrown and retrieved or swung for high damage.
  18. 18
The club can be lit to ward off or kill predators, light dark caverns, or provide warmth. A two-handed club becomes available later in the game.
  19. 19
The sling has unlimited ammo. The "Precision Sling" upgrade adds significant punch, allowing headshots to kill regular enemies and penetrate enemy masks.
  20. 20
Use the sling to hit hanging loot bags, shatter alarm horns, or toss stones to distract enemies.
  21. 21
Sting bombs, fashioned from bee hives, can occupy enemies with swarming insects. Bee hives are common in the environment.
  22. 22
Berserk shards can be crafted late in the game and thrown at enemies to make them attack comrades.
  23. 23
Fire bombs are acquired late in the game and function as Stone Age Molotovs.
  24. 24
Traps can be crafted to snare humans or animals, weakening them.
