Find the Tome artifact and Counting Cube in Fez Part 8, and learn how to break the code.
Walkthrough
- 1From the warp gate (a portal that allows fast travel), head through the door two platforms below the warp gate's sewers/dark green side to find a throne room with a cube bit (a collectible item).
- 2Enter the small door next to the destroyed purple door to find a room with a single cube bit.
- 3Go through the destroyed purple door, which looks like it previously required many cubes to enter, to find a destroyed gate and two cube bits.
- 4Take the door on the floating platform with a pink tree on top to reach an area with a clock.
- 5Enter the door on the lowest floating structure to access a new large area with a telescope.
- 6Focusing on the clock area, ascend the tower and go through the first door to reach an area with a museum.
- 7Find a 'hidden' door underneath the pink tree on the floating platform that links back to the warp gate. Collect a cube bit from the museum's roof.
- 8Inside the museum, interact with elements as indicated on your map.
- 9Discover the 'Tome' artifact by finding a hidden door. The artifact is described as a book. This unlocks the achievement HAIKUS NOT EPICS (10 G).
- 10Return to the clock tower and ascend to the top to find a full cube shard (a larger collectible).
- 11Observe the clock; an Anticube appears when the seconds hand hits 12 o'clock.
- 12Use the small gate to return to the warp gate. From there, go through the door on the lowest floating structure to reach the telescope area.
- 13In the telescope area, ascend and enter the small door on the first floating platform.
- 14Navigate upwards quickly to reach a doorway under the pink tree, leading to a room with an interacting device.
- 15Experiment with the interacting device, noting its outputs.
- 16Break the code by interacting with a device that translates symbols. This unlocks the achievement CRYPTOGRAPHER (15 G).
- 17Exit the room and enter the temple to find a library with a solar system model.
- 18Observe the symbols on the library walls, noting they are different from those in the Tome artifact.
- 19Go through the door on the opposite side to find a treasure chest containing the 'Counting Cube' artifact. This unlocks the achievement A NUMBERS GAME (10 G).
- 20Dot explains the Counting Cube was used to count.
- 21Return outside and climb the structure to find a full cube shard. Use the small gate to return to the main warp gate. The hidden door also provides direct access to the warp gate area.
- 22Instead of returning to the warp gate, backtrack to the previous area and continue ascending.
- 23Find a full cube shard on a floating platform at the top, which also activates a small gate.
- 24Enter the building in the telescope area and look through the telescope.
- 25Use the 'hidden' door with two overlapping squares to quickly return to a room at the beginning of this area, near the cabin (down a level).
- 26Pass through the room with the floating platform containing a treasure chest.
- 27Back at the cabin, proceed to the Cemetary.
- 28In the Cemetary, find two cube bits. Enter the wooden door to access the area's main node.
- 29Collect seven cube bits in the main node area. If all other warp gate nodes have been accessed, you will unlock the achievement WARP ZONE (15 G).
- 30Head through the wooden door on the lower side of the large main structure to find a mysterious place with a cube bit and a rotating owl statue.
- 31Enter the area with four cube bits and a treasure chest via the door on the floating platform next to the warp gate.
Tips
- Inspect everything in a room.

- The clock's seconds hand hitting 12 o'clock may be significant.
- Note the interaction outputs of the device in the mysterious room.
- Consider the purpose of the purple stone on the other platform.
- The symbols in the library are related to the structure of symbols.
- The first symbol on the Counting Cube is the same as the first symbol in the Tome artifact.
- Consult your treasure map for guidance.
