How to Get Every Weapon in Ghost of Tsushima

Ghost of Tsushima primarily features Jin Sakai's trusty katana and his bows as his main offensive tools. While the katana itself is a constant companion, its power can be enhanced through upgrades. The bows, however, offer distinct advantages, and acquiring both the Short Bow and the Longbow is essential for a versatile combat approach.

Katana: Jin's katana is his signature weapon and is with him from the beginning of the game. It cannot be swapped out for a different model, but it can be significantly upgraded at any blacksmith. Upgrades increase its base damage, stagger damage, and can unlock special effects. These upgrades require various materials such as Steel, Supplies, and later, Gold.

Short Bow: The Short Bow is typically acquired early in the game, often during the main story progression in Act I. It is designed for rapid firing and is effective at close to medium range. Its quick draw speed allows for swift follow-up shots, making it ideal for engaging multiple enemies or applying pressure in close-quarters combat.

Longbow: The Longbow is usually obtained slightly later in the game, often in Act II. This bow excels at long-range precision shots. It has a slower draw speed but deals significantly more damage and has greater accuracy over distance. The Longbow is perfect for picking off enemies from afar, disabling archers, or initiating combat with a powerful opening shot.

Ghost Weapons: While not traditional weapons, Jin's Ghost weapons are critical offensive tools. These include Kunai, Sticky Bombs, and Firecrackers. They are acquired through story progression and can be upgraded at the Ghost weapon vendor. These tools offer tactical advantages for stealth, crowd control, and dealing with specific enemy types.

Unlocking and Upgrading:

  • Story Progression: Most weapons and core Ghost tools are unlocked naturally as you advance through the main story missions.
  • Blacksmiths: Visit blacksmiths in villages and camps to upgrade your katana using collected materials.
  • Ghost Weapon Vendor: Specific vendors allow you to upgrade your Ghost weapons, enhancing their damage and effects.

By acquiring and upgrading both bows and mastering the use of Ghost weapons, Jin Sakai becomes a far more adaptable and deadly warrior, capable of facing any threat the Mongol invasion throws at him.
