Sashimono Banners and Saddles
Customize your samurai experience with new Sashimono banners and saddles. These cosmetic items allow you to personalize Jin's appearance and his trusty steed, adding a unique flair to your journey across Tsushima.
In Ghost of Tsushima, personalization plays a key role in immersing players in the world. Beyond armor and sword skins, you can further customize Jin's appearance and his loyal horse with unique cosmetic items. Two prominent categories of these customizations are Sashimono banners and saddles. These items, while purely aesthetic, add a significant layer of personal expression to your samurai journey.
Sashimono Banners:
Sashimono are small banners worn on the back of a samurai, traditionally used for identification on the battlefield. In Ghost of Tsushima, these banners are worn by Jin and can be changed to various dess. They are primarily obtained through:
- Completing Tales of Tsushima: Many side quests reward you with unique Sashimono dess upon completion.
- Finding Pillars of Honor: These hidden markers scattered across the island often contain cosmetic rewards, including Sashimono.
- Defeating Mongol Leaders: Certain high-ranking Mongol enemies may drop unique banners.
- Purchasing from Merchants: Some merchants, particularly those in larger towns, may offer Sashimono for sale.
To change your Sashimono, you need to visit a Merchant or a Trophy Vendor. Interact with them, and you'll find an option to customize your appearance. Select the Sashimono tab and choose from the dess you have unlocked.
Saddles:
Your horse is your constant companion, and its appearance can also be customized. Saddles affect the look of your horse's tack, including the saddle itself, the reins, and sometimes other decorative elements. Like Sashimono, saddles are unlocked through:
- Completing Tales of Tsushima: Similar to banners, many side quests offer saddles as rewards.
- Finding Pillars of Honor: These are a common source for new saddle dess.
- Hunting and Trapping: Certain hunting challenges or the completion of specific trapping objectives can yield unique saddles.
- Purchasing from Merchants: Some merchants will have a selection of saddles available for purchase.
- Iki Island DLC: The Iki Island expansion introduces its own set of unique saddles to discover and unlock.
To change your horse's saddle, you will again need to visit a Merchant or Trophy Vendor. Access the customization menu, select the Horse tab, and choose the saddle that best suits your style. The saddle you equip will be visible whenever you are mounted on your horse.
