Initially, your base will likely have wooden walls. These are easily destroyed. Your priority should be to upgrade them to 'Metal Walls' and 'Metal Gates'. This requires a significant amount of 'Metal Sheets' and 'Metal Pipes'. Use a 'Hammer' to perform upgrades. Consider adding multiple layers of walls, creating airlocks or choke points to slow down raiders. Ensure all gates have 'Code Locks' and that your codes are complex and not easily guessed.
