The Crusher is the final boss of a standard run, a massive alien behemoth that serves as the ultimate challenge. Defeating it earns the 'The Biggest Step' achievement. This boss is characterized by its heavy armor, powerful melee attacks, and ranged projectiles.

Phase 1: Ground Assault

In its initial phase, The Crusher will primarily engage with ground-based attacks. It will charge at your Jumper, attempting to stomp or swipe with its massive limbs. It also has a ranged attack where it launches corrosive projectiles. Your main strategy here should be to maintain distance and continuously strafe to avoid its charges. Use your jetpack to quickly reposition and dodge the projectiles. Focus fire on its legs or exposed joints, as these are often weaker points. Weapons with high single-target damage like Mag Slugs or sustained fire from a max tier Flamethrower can be effective. Grenades are excellent for dealing burst damage when it pauses after an attack.

Phase 2: Enraged Barrage

Once The Crusher loses a significant portion of its health, it will enter an enraged state. Its attacks become faster, and it may introduce new abilities, such as summoning smaller enemies or creating shockwaves. During this phase, defensive play is crucial. Prioritize dodging and creating space. If it summons adds, quickly eliminate them with area-of-effect weapons or grenades to prevent being overwhelmed. Continue to target its weak points, but be more opportunistic with your attacks, firing only when you have a clear opening. Relics that provide temporary invulnerability or significant damage boosts can be game-changers in this phase.

Weaknesses & Rewards

The Crusher does not have a single elemental weakness, but it is highly susceptible to sustained damage and critical hits. Weapons that pierce armor or deal damage over time (like the Poison Grenade or Flamethrower) can be effective against its high defenses. Upon defeat, The Crusher drops a large amount of Goo, Amber, and often a rare Ordovician Tech relic, providing significant rewards for your efforts.
